I had an amazing takeaway from Birsay Bay Tearoom for lunch: sweet potato and rosemary soup with cheese scone for me, and sausage sandwich followed by a huge flapjack for my husband. All super tasty! The scone was fresh, and I also loved the soup. Husband loved his sandwich and flapjack too. We only waited 10 minutes for all to be ready. Provided in paper bag with vegeware compostable containers. We'll be going back.

A lot of effort has gone in to making this tearoom a welcoming place to visit and provide quality and scrumptious food to both regulars and visitors. The pandemic has meant changes to the way the tearoom could operate and obviously various restrictions had to put in place to comply. Most people have accepted and complied with the changes and restrictions but there is still a few newer customers that think that some of the restrictions in place before the pandemic shouldn’t apply to them. I for one think that animals of any kind shouldn’t be allowed in eating places and I suspect that a lot of other tearoom customers feel the same. The owner has to set restrictions to cater for the majority, common sense and hygiene

Yet another excellent tea with the most wonderfully moist carrot cake. COID means entrance from the side but the restrictions are managed well to give the miniumum inconvenience with maximum safety.
Yup
7/8/2020 FridayThank you for being so kind !!!!So glad to see you open (again) today !!!This is not just a piece of coffee cake. This is a piece of "cake from the FUTURE" !!2 years ago, when I was queuing up for the coffee cake, i witnessed the last piece sold to the customers in front of me...Back there on last Saturday and the lady told me the cafe will re-open on Friday (today).Back today and another lady told me coffee cake all sold out !!!I started blabbling about how gutted i feel. The lady said "ok ! We will take the cake from tmr out from the fridge and put icing on for you now. Can u wait for 5-10mins ?""Are u sure ??!! Of course I can wait !!! Thank you !!!!" 😂😂

An absolute gem of a tea room in Birsay, and very very busy. We didn't realise how busy it would be and found it impossible to get a table as a walk in. However we were still made very welcome and ordered a takeaway instead. The homemade cakes were delicious and good quality coffee too. To avoid disappointment go to their Facebook page for details of how to book a table. You won't be disappointed.

What a view! Lovely staff. Was the last person in before 5pm so got the added bonus of some baked earlier in the day scones as a present to go home with (they bake them fresh each day) Thank you!

Lovely, place for coffee, tea, cake anything. Local food. Remember to ring and book a table, always very bussy and full. Lavender cake the best. The view from windows is WOW!

A latte and piece of banoffe cake, unusual but very tasty. They lost a star because the waitress said "Enjoy" after serving, it sounds mean of me but a five letter word isn't big enough to be a sentence on its own.

Wonderful location and views from the ample windows, lovely decoration and friendly atmosphere. Nice staff. We went for an afternoon tea and it was great: still dream about their cakes, toasts and obviously the whipped butter! Another time I had a tasty soup. I'd come back anytime I could... pity I live a thousand miles away!
