Decent pint and friendly staff, worth a visit if your in the area.

What can I say? A classic Scottish bar with great beer and above average food. This is the place to kick back after a cold day on the nearby hills .

Good food. Good spot for food without reservation. Apparently you need reservations for the popular places.

OK but nothing better. Staff didn't seem properly trained, bar tender was getting flustered with more than two customers and the real ale she pulled was flat. Food served to table with no condiments, sauces etc having been provided and waitress walked straight off without asking whether we required any more sauces etc, so had to wait for flustered bar tender to finish serving other customers to ask for salt, vinegar etc while my food went cold - which wasn't that hot anyway when served. Appearance and texture of food - haddock and chips - suggested freezer contents not home made/prepared. Disappointing for the price.

Wow, I didn't know that a pub could be run so badly. First time I came in I waited 5 minutes for a pint and left frustrated. Second time I stuck with it while lots of people who already have a drink were getting new ones and when I finally got the pint it was either old or off but it's disgusting. The old mooterhoose was great though. Go there.

Good pub, does lunchtime and evening meals. No dogs allowed but has a good atmosphere and interesting Orkney photos.

Excellent lamb and steak. Wide choice on the menu. Good beer selection. Didn't have any of the problems the other reviewers had. Better atmosphere inside than implied outside. Friendly service. Well cooked meat. Good chips.

Good beer/whisky, great live music, but bar staff were very rude, unfriendly and should frankly find another profession if they find serving customers so annoying. Their knowledge of what they were serving was also inadequate. I also didn't see any food options.

If you are a fan of poor, rude and bumbling staff and absolutely love frozen food then this is the place for you! I ordered a 'stonebake' pizza from there the other day and there is no doubt in my mind that it was a frozen pizza from Tesco or Coop with chicken and chorizo chucked on top. It tasted exactly like a frozen supermarket pizza. All 4 of our party got food at separate intervals (must only have one microwave) and even they were disappointed.So do yourself a favour after reading this....look elsewhere. St Ola was nice for food.
