Emily's Ice Cream Parlour & Craft Shop in Orkney Islands

Don't bother walking round the 1.5 mile distance from the ferry terminal or you might be disappointed. We did and miss Emily met us at the door to tell us that she was fully booked with a coach group. We were hoping for an early lunch here (as advertised on numerous flyers pinned to the wall in the ferry lounge ) before visiting the Scapa Flow Museum. We were reluctantly offered a coffee out on a cold wind swept deck but declined. Fifteen minutes later and no sign of the coach group from the road back to Lyness, we puffed our way back to the Museum Cafe. Not bad for two seventy year olds. The soup and coffee there was ace so big beak to you Emily. Take a moment and reflect on your actions Emily....... Two OAPs from Renfrewshire.

Stopped here for a quick coffee once off of the ferry, but on the way back from the walk to the Old Man, we had the most divine slice each of Victoria Sponge.. mmmm

This place is really, really good. We had coffee (Americano) and a cider. We also had a roast beef sandwich and for dessert the Victoria sponge cake. All were very good. There is a small parking lot across the road for you to use. There are no reservations and it does fill up fast - keep that in mind.

Lovely tearoom, cakes were delicious and Emily was warm and welcoming. Dog friendly and option to sit inside or out, worth the visit if you're on Hoy.

Plenty parking, friendly welcome and the staff worked very hard. Lovely quaint theme, outlook to the sea, you can sit inside or out. Great selection of fresh cakes and tasty ice cream. Hope to be back one day.

We went there to get something hot to eat during a rainy day. The views, despite the weather, were still great. The "granny style" decor might not be to everyone's taste, but it definitely makes the place unique. The food was delicious, one of the better burgers I had for a long time.And there was a selection of small gifts, knick-knacks and jewelery made by local artists and in very reasonable prices.I would recommend this place if you are around.

Well situated about 1.5 miles from the Orkney Mainland Ferry. Great restorative pot of tea, tasty homemade Victoria sponge cake and a nice little craft shop. Good views too.

Stopped by after climbing Old man of Hoy for some refreshments. Lovingly decorated and yummy cake!
