Gerri's Ice Cream Parlour in Orkney Islands

Great selection of delicious ice cream as well as a good selection of old fashioned sweets. I highly recommend the caramel ice cream, but found their brand of sweet peanuts too sweet.

Really great ice cream parlour. A gem on the road between Kirkwall and Stromness. It's close enough to the stones and loch of Stenness that you can buy your ice cream and then drive to eat it overlooking a scenic view! Lots of flavours of Orkney ice cream, plus drinks and sweeties :)

Rather disappointing, limited choice of flavours available and the warm welcome others have mentioned wasn't extended to us. Ice creams were served before we were told it was cash only. The assistant was a tad surly to say the least. Ice cream was very nice but will buy it elsewhere in future.

We found the lady who served us to be rather unfriendly. My cafe latte was a mug of instant coffee (made with water) and a small amount of froth on top, made from watered down milk. Very disappointing and not worth the £2.60 price - and certainly not what was described on the menu.

I absolutely LOVE my visits to Gerri's. Delicious Orkney ice cream aplenty in either cones or with amazing additions to make fantastic sundaes. And of course the famous 7-scoop Stenness Monster cone is always a total beast of an ice-cream-lover's challenge. There's also a range of tasty hot drinks and muffins on offer - not to mention the wide choice of yummy old-fashioned sweets available to help find off the inevitable sugar-crash 😂Only thing I'd like to see added is some kind of dairy-free frozen treat option so everyone can join in.

The monster ice cream was a good challenge for my 15 year old brother and ice creams are delicious with a good selection. The staff (the older lady) wasn't very welcoming and seemed to be in a bad mood, she got very stressed when there were more than 2 customers in the shop.

Great!A proper old fashioned ice cream parlour, with a good choice of flavours along with favourites like Banana split, and knickerbocker glory...Hot & cold drinks, including some interesting temperance drinks such as Dandelion & Burdock.Service with a smile, and reasonable prices. Will certainly return if we visit Orkney again.

A very good variation of ice-creams, lots of flavours to enjoy. A big attraction is the "Stenness Monster", which includes a very large wafer cone and 7 scoops of ice-cream. I understand that of this date 2 people have managed 3 "Stenness Monsters" back to back. Enjoy!!

Friendly staff with a whole host of choices on the menu, many named after local sites. Check the wall for specials. "Yesnaby Stack" pictured.

Great ice creams, lots of choices and variations. Friendly chat and lovely coffee. A cosy, little place but well worth a visit.
