Haff Yok Cafe in Orkney Islands

The best coffee, cake, and service in Kirkwall. My only suggested improvment would be to allow dogs, when I'm in town without a car I have to use the second best cafe in Kirkwall.

Great food half a sandwich was a first. Soup was lovely jubilee, but its a choice between feeding yourself for lunch or dinner as it's no cheap cheap.

Best coffee in Orkney. If you're a visitor who needs their fix of Soy Chai Latte or other complex drink order, this is the place in Kirkwall most likely to get it spot on. The food is brilliant. Only downside is queueing for a table at lunchtime - usually only 10mins, but a testament to how good the place is.

Always busy, with good reason!Friendly and efficient service, and food is really lovely!My husband had creamy mushroom soup- which he said was stupendous!And the Monte Cristo (french toast with honey roast shredded ham and Orkney cheese) I was abit jealous- but as im milk intolerant i had to resist!My Avocado toast was really lovely... and I would thoroughly recomment the additional garlic mushrooms- Wow!Also- Oat milk on hand for us awkward folk!😋Update: I found the allergen info on an old FB post as its not on the menus...

Just a few metres from the main shopping street (Albert Street), Archive Coffee is located in the spacious re-purposed library building on Laing Street. Open for takeaway and sit-in, Archive serves up a full breakfast menu, cakes, teas and the best flat white in town. The coffee used here comes predominantly from Glasgow based Dear Green and is brewed on their La Marzocco Linea PB; one of the few speciality coffee machines in Orkney. A great place to kick-start any tour of Kirkwall!

Only stopped by for some tea and cake but the atmosphere was amazing! Had a cup of tea and a really generous slice of cake (almost couldn't finish it all!). Planning on returning next time we are in Orkney hopefully to try some of the breakfast menu we saw advertised! Shame we couldn't this time.

The food was amazing, staff were excellent and all of the additional measures that have been put in place in relation to COVID were reassuring and well adhered. I'd feel very comfortable going back. Hope the fantastic discounts on offer tempt a few more people out for a treat 😊

Exceptional coffee. Had the soup and the cakes were excellent. Really busy so we had to wait a short time for a table but it was well worth it. Prompt friendly service.
