We had a overnight stay in Lyness and the Hoy hotel is a short walk from the harbour. Nice pub area with darts and pool table. The the Chap behind the bar was nice. Bonus points for Basil Brush on the window sill 😆. FYI, the temporary Scapa museum is also located here

Not bad for a temporary display of the scapa museum, however the rest of the area is extremely dreary.

Been here to visit the temporary museum( the real one gets an enormous facelift). It's all about WW1 and WW2 and the time inbetween. Not too far to walk from the ferry....you can spend quite some time here..Ofcourse we can't wait for the Lyness museum to be opened.....as it will also have a restaurant and toilets...and a much much bigger display....
