Julia's Cafe in Orkney Islands

Enjoyed a lovely filled roll and homemade soup, very much needed on a blowy March.

Simple take away food at good prices. It definitely hits the spot for a quick bite before boarding the ferry!

Nice little cafe with outside seating. Good choice of hot and cold sandwiches, cakes and drinks. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Recommended

During the pandemic, the cafe has moved entirely outside under an open sided marquee. Orders can be made at "the shed" and take away containers are used for soup and hot drinks. The filled rolls available are superb, and include local produce such as crab.

Ice cream Shed was open. Bacon butties are great. The bistro and the breakfasts we wanted is closed even in its official opening hours.

Although food was ok when we eventually got through the orders for it, it’s a fail in terms of COVID procedures. Tables not being cleaned in between sittings, and no contact details being taken / check in being requested for the covered seating area. Sorry folks but it’s also very expensive, they could be making an effort to keep their customers safe.

This cafe was on my 'must do' list. I'm not disappointed. I chose the creamy smoked seafood chowder with toasted sourdough bread from the specials board. It was chunky, tasty and super filling.

Disappointed, I could have got my fish and chips from the Co op next door and microwave it myself at home. Happened to be at the port literally you guys went far below my expectations for cooking fish. My worst lunch in years,wish I had an option to leave no stars under my review!
