Now an annex of kirkwall hotel. Room was clean and presentable. Bathroom smells of damp. I did mention this I was told staff were aware. Housekeeping forgot our room despite me asking for a slip mat further shower. Needed to go to reception in kirkwall Hotel to ask for towels etc.the building was cold and smelt of damp would not recommend this place.

Excellent value for the quality of the food & wine. Great service & atmosphere

My room was a little dated with a few maintenance issues, but the bed was comfy and receptionist was friendly. Continental breakfast only at the moment and could have been better. Great location on the seafront.

Great hospitality and despite the current pandemic The Shore did not make excuses but rather provided an alternative solution. A clean safe area for dinners to bring in food and a 24-hour buffet bar area for teas, coffees and snacks. This will now be my "go to" hotel if in Orkney!

Really like this hotel. Shame their menu had changed to one that you had to have very specific food preferences. Some of the rooms allow noise from other rooms to travel through which is a shame because I really enjoyed my first stay over month ago. So on my second visit I left quite tired due to being able to hear everything from the room above, walking around from 4.30am,using the toilet, when taking a shower.so not sure I'll be returning because of the above reasons which is a shame.

We recently visited on holiday to Orkney with local friends and actually ended up going back there on our last night, it was that good. The menu has a decent variety of food which is all cooked to a very high standard. I recommend the lamb! The staff are also lovely and very friendly. I'd definitely recommend booking as they're very popular. I can't wait to go back again!

Lovely restaurant. 2 evening sittings so aim for early- from 5.30 or late- from 7pm. Perfect service. Food was delicious, the crab tart and haddock risotto (?) were impressive. Not a cheap meal out but definitely worth the little extra simply for the overall quality.

Stayed for one night, researched hotels in the area and wasn't disappointed with this one. Staff were really friendly and professional. Hotel was very clean throughout including our room. We had a few drinks in the bar, we didn't eat in the restaurant. Later in the evening the bar did become busy but everyone was enjoying themselves, after retiring to our room we didn't hear any noise from the bar below. The breakfast was very good with good size portions. We would definitely stay again.

Spotlessly clean and a beautiful restaurant, the chef even wrote out and gave a me his recipe for my meal. I have stayed here on many occasions. I love the rooms, they are warm comfortable and modern, hairdryers, dressing gowns, shower and hair shampoo is provided as well as tea, coffee, chocolate etc. The bar and waiting staff are excellent too. Don't hesitate in staying here xx

Helpful staff, tidy and comfy room. Enjoyed the stay. My bedroom had a disabled shower room which was fine for me but has been part painted not finished in places. Great big bed and shower robes were a good touch.
