Kirkwall Hotel Restaurant in Orkney Islands

Fantastic service by a man decked out in diamonds, he was very good at his job. The restaurant was extremely full and a very family friendly

A three star hotel with five star service and food that is worthy of praise. Located conveniently for Kirkwall and ferries it made a great base to explore the Orkney Isles, something that can be achieved on public transport with a little planning.

Nice waiting staff, but for a hotel right next to the water, there was no fish hardly on the menu.... No catch of the day, no scallops or crab or lobster. Very disappointed with this.

Probably more Highland Park whisky than the distillery has!! Very welcoming, room finished to very high standard, food was great, recommend the beef and bone marrow burger👌 can't wait to come back.

The Kirkwall hotel is a fantastic location both for the town centre and touring the Island. Staff were very friendly and helpful and made our stay very relaxing. The room and en suite were newly decorated and very well done. There was also a lovely sitting room with sea views. Tea making facilities inc filter coffee. We had dinner on the first night and once again we would give the meal top marks...beautiful. There is nothing negative I could say about the hotel or our stay. I will definitely be back and would thoroughly recommend The Kirkwall Hotel.

Really nice hotel. Very friendly staff .Very well situated in Kirkwall for ferry or shopping. Rooms very comfortable (you don't want to get out of bed!) Excellent interior design,(right up my street) very tasty food. Local products on display in reception. Excellent

The location is great, right on the harbour, with the historic old town and many shops within a short walk. The hotel itself was a work in progress, being refurbishing room by room. Ours had been refurbished but was somewhat under provided for in terms of furnishings. We could have done with a wardrobe for instance, rather than a couple of hooks on the wall. Nice enough but not good value due to lack of supply and high demand.

The room had been recently renovated and was clean and comfortable despite the outward appearance of the building. However, the design of the bathroom was poor with nowhere to put anything either inside or outside the shower room. Pleasant dining room with good service but food disappointing. Parking right outside.

Very clean good sized room finished to a very high standard!!Bathroom finished to the same high standard with double shower which was lovely.Food was outstanding. ( couldn’t wait for the next mealtime to come around).The staff were very friendly and helpful .Thank you ALL for a lovely stay.Would recommend this hotel to anyone.Paul & Sher.

Very friendly professional outstanding pleasant staff to deal with. The breakfast is mouth watering delicious when it comes to local caught Kippers from the sea. The staff is very friendly and always happy to help. Big thumbs up to the beautiful historical Kirkwall Hotel in Orkney.
