Murray Arms Gun Deck Restaurant in Orkney Islands

Stopped here for lunch on a visit to St Margaret's Hope. Really friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Superb seafood tagliatelle. Will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

We booked a table for Sunday evening, as we walked in we were greeted by really lovely, friendly staff.Everything was perfect…. food delicious, the portions just the right size and well priced, it’s very busy so booking in advance is definitely advised.Big thank you to Chloe and Suzanne who looked after us.

Excellent food. Party of 6 and we had no complaints.Such a nice place to sit and have some lovely fresh seafood.We will definitely be back for more. Can't believe it has taken us so long to get here.Really fine staff made the night so enjoyable.

Stayed last night, couldn’t fault anything, from the friendly check in, lovely spotless room and food. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. Highlight though were the many wonderful friendly staff, will definitely be back.

We had lunch at The Murray Arms and it was excellent. Moreover the waitress gave us some good tips for walking nearby. An enjoyable experience.

We cannot praise the Murray Arms enough. It's a pity we can only give it 5 stars as it deserves at least 11. Super dog friendly and beautiful seafood in the restaurant. Fantastic breakfasts and a great location on a bus route. We'll definitely be back 👍

Their sign outside said lunch was provided until 4pm but inside they said it was 3pm. I ordered lobster sandwich but they said they had no lobster and to return at 6pm. I said the sign says it will re-open at 5pm, she said the sign was inaccurate and going to the tip. I said the prices will be higher for the evening menu and the waitress assured me "it would be the same price." I patiently waited the 3 hours and returned to be told it would now cost nearly £25 for the lobster instead of the £14! No apology given. No compromise offered.

So friendly and welcoming. The seafood is delicious. The scallops are large and lovely, but the flavoured butter could be more generous. Having a caramelised scallop option would be amazing. For those not keen on shellfish, the haddock and chips is superbly cooked and delicious. They've excellently renovated the restaurant and bar and it all looks superb.

Just found this place today to have lunch. We were not disappointed. Superb crab open sandwich with salad. Staff very friendly & attentive.

Gorgeous food cooked to an exceptionally high standard. Would highlt recommend the seafood platter, if you can manage to clear the plate!
