Visitor Centre Shop opening Friday 15th April - Tasting Hall closed due to building works

Pleasant stop and friendly staff. Beer was good and food selection decent. Gift shop a bit overpriced as I bought a T-Shirt and didn’t realize it was 25lbs….over $30..only option in the area really so a pleasant surprise.

·

Excellent for a light lunch, and really enjoyed the beer tasters. Recommended.

Visited the brewery on 30th June. Hand sanitiser available throughout the different areas, track and trace in place. Good local food, friendly knowledgeable staff, well spaced out tables due to current situation and a relaxed atmosphere. Visited the gift shop before leaving, which is a must.

My husband and I did the brewery tour which was advertised as 40 mins however the opening line of the chap who showed us around said it would be more like 20-25 mins (which it was). The tasting at the end of the only had 4 beers on tap but since I was driving I was offered a bottle of beer instead. I had no choice and was given a dark beer which was on offer in the shop for ÂŁ1. Looking at it I realised it had a best before date of October 2017. When I pointed this out at first I was dismissed but later was given a different beer that was two months out of date.

The Orkney brewery is a marvelous and special place. The microbrewery is located in a restored school house. Private tours in the brewery are available - even if you're coming in with 2 persons. But the tours is just one thing: enjoy the very welcoming atmosphere of the tasting room with a very well cooked lunch to make your visit unforgettable! Once you're finished? Well just come back another day because this place is very special, indeed.

We arrived as tour group was leaving. Sign said they were full but staff accommodated us without reservation. Great looking spot. After Skara Brae, best spot to stop by. Food is delicious and they have most beers on cask.

Very well done tasting room, they kept the feel of the original schoolhouse. The beer is grand! The Skull Splitter was wonderful, a bit heavy though if you are driving!

Popped in hoping to have a hot drink and we stayed quite a while! Lovely, helpful staff, and a great café too. Plenty of beer - understandably! - as well as a gift shop, and extra information about the islands, and the venue before conversion. This isn't (yet) on the tour runs, so you won't get mobbed. Definitely worth a visit.
