Nice bar, hearty breakfast, comfortable room, and agreeable service. I enjoyed my stay !

It was back in Sep 2028. We had a great fish and chips lunch and a pint. Tasty food and great service.

Very comfortable, good breakfast. Pity no evening meals when we were there

Overall pretty good stay, pretty good & quality breakfast , friendly staff.Great location near Thurso Ferry and near all local amenities.Room as described, a compact but comfortable single room, enough space to lounge around, and nice view over roof tops. Very clean. Hot power shower, nice amenities. On arrival my booking dot com was not in their admin, but when I came back after a browse around in town it was all sorted. I guess. They work together with the Ferry Inn, had some lovely food there. Nice to be addressed by my surname by the staff. Great scallops, not cheap but worth it.Good value for money.

Amazing meal in The Haven tonight and top class service. Thank you so much

Food great but service need scrutiny as drinks were charged at levels much higher than listed. Malt whisky can be expensive however increases of over £10 per drink were not advised before serving and were not written on the bar list of tariffs. For those visiting I advise checking with bar staff the cost of what you order. Not the usual island hospitality....bad service that could have been avoided through consultation with management

Had a great meal here, ordered the Steak and Ale pie and a beer. A little pricey and Steak was too salty to my liking. Besides that, potatoes and bread was spot on!

Booked a table for lunch at the Stromness Hotel, only to be told on arrival that lunch was not being served.Royal hotel was closest, so we thought we would give it a go.Glad we did, as service was efficient, and the food was excellent. Nice friendly welcome too.Exterior decor does not do the interior justice, great place well worth a try.I'd happily return.

The bar is quite OK. But don't ever order the <<slow cooked lamb with red wine sauce>>. This will serve you an old sheep, frozen meanwhile, and shortly cooked. Be sure to have a saw with you, if you order this. The red wine sauce is an instant stuff and the mashed potatoes are from the supermarket nearby.Talking to the waitress about the quality of the food, I was just asked, whether I will like to order more stuff. Sincerely no recommendation.

Great place for a drink and food. Tables can be busy in summer so might be best to book if you want a specific time. The are two bars back to back. The front bar has pool and darts and loads of chat. The back lounge bar is quieter with table service. Food is great pub food with a seafood twist. Try the scallops! Beer selection is good with local "Dark Island" ale available.
