St Magnus Bay Hotel Restaurant in Shetland Islands

Wonderful family owned hotel. Andrea and Paul will make everyone feel at home. We had 4 nights booked and added 4 more.

Stayed at the St Magnus Bay Hotel with 10 of my work colleagues for four days after being taken of an Oil Platform. This surprisingly turned out to be one of the best ever stays at any hotel I have ever experienced, of course the hotel itself appears a bit dated, but the service and hospitality shown from the owner Andrea and her team was exceptional. We where looked after as if you had moved back in with your mother, nothing was a problem, laundry done, home cooking every meal and a real feeling of genuine care and attention. Home made curry on Saturday night was amazing and the Sunday roast dinner was beyond belief with the best homemade Yorkshire puddings and gravy I have ever tasted, a sentiment also shared by my other 10 colleagues. We we're almost disappointed that we had to return to Aberdeen, and could have easily spent more time in what was an amazing well run family business hotel. The St Magnus Bay Hotel is more than a place to stay, it's a place filled with warmth and genuine customer care that would be hard to find in any other hotel anywhere. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone, you will not be disappointed. A big thanks to Andrea and her team for all the guys from BP Clair Oil Platform.

Excellent Sunday carvery (altho would be nice to have a veggie option as the potatoes and veg looked so delicious). Lovely meal for both of us nonetheless, and we were fitted in last minute by super friendly and happy staff. Beautiful views over the bay. Would definitely go again and recommend it.

We've just called in for a coffee. Excellent coffee and cakes, with a superb view of the inside of a cloud, but I can hardly blame the hotel for that 😋

Excellent break, beautiful outlook, bedroom comfortable, some aspects could be updated but with a great walk in shower. Very well prepared and presented delicious home made meals. Superb wine list. Owners on hand to answer any queries and go the extra mile to ensure a great stay. Would recommend St Magnus Bay Hotel no problem whatsoever.

Overnight stay with dinner. Breakfast and carvery following day. Food outstanding. Nice room fantastic views, warm and clean. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and staff and owners couldn't be better. A + all around, superb 👍

If you're looking for a place to go in the UK go to the Shetland Islands and go to St Magnus Bay. The Shetland Islands are fantastic and the hotel location is superb, located in a bay where you can spot orcas from your room! Our stay was fantastic, Andrea and Paul took great care of us: breakfast at the hotel is amazing and so is food if you'd like to have dinner there and taste local fish and products. Highly recommended, I wish we could have stayed more!
