Poppins Restaurant in Barking and Dagenham

Great service, good food, however if you are tall or on the bigger side the chairs are bolted to the floor and far too close to the table making eating uncomfortable and awkward.

5 stars because it's exactly what you expect from a Poppins and is great. Budget breakfast/lunch and all day breakfast but still tastes really good.

Lovely staff, really nice food

Great time out with the family. About 5 other people in the cafe when we, a group of 8, showed up. Waiter took our orders and food showed up soon enough. Portions were large and food cooked through and tasty. We ordered dessert too and that was tasty and came in good time although one order came slightly later. Toilets are upstairs though so not accessible to wheelchair users. Parking can be found around the cafe, we parked up at the local leisure centre which was about 5 mins walk away. Prices at the cafe were fair considering its location and demographics. We visited during Barking Market day (Tuesday, also on Thurs & Sat) so busy outside but inside it was quieter and a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle outside. It's also about 10mins walk from Barking Station so helpful for those families travelling on tube etc. Staff were friendly (not overly familiar or smiley), professional and got down to serving us with aplomb. Nothing too much for them. One of our party spilt a drink and we had to move tables due to the mess, but we weren't made to feel like we were an inconvenience or silly, floor was mopped, table wiped and back to business as usual. Brilliant service! Really helpful people, thank you for having us!!

Fresh food old fashioned service great verity I had a fresh salad with chips so fresh so much on plate presented in a great way .Only thing is disabled there is a toilet but upstairs so go before xThis staff were warm friendly and did a great job 👏

Excellent place to eat!Open plan kitchen, you can see how your food is prepared, chef is super clean and tidy as he works with a lovely attitude. Family run business with a warm environment.By far the best place in Barking, excellent food, excellent service and reasonable price. Recommended - will be back again 👍

This is the best place to eat. Clean tidy and the food is to die for the staff are so friendly I go in there when ever I go to London from Wales and eat in there all the time always give the 3'children a lolly when you pay if there was more then five stars I would give them 10 100% thank you Poppins

Prices high. Food awful. Example. Ordered a sausage sandwich. Must of been 2 sausages max that was sliced minimum 3 times then fried meaning meat was non existent. Then to top it off, they didn't even both buttering the bread.

I have been coming here frequently for about 5/6 years and always been the same lovely people running it. Amazing food, whether you fancy something hot or cold, and their milkshakes are to die for. Good place to come for brunch with mates or your partner, or for lunch or dinner as a family. The staff are so friendly and always very welcoming. Decent prices and always leave you wanting to come back.
