The Boathouse Cafe and Bar in Barking and Dagenham

I love this place. Service is so good and cocktails are perfect! Carrot cake is also SO GOOD! Aaand vegan. Love it. Will come back for sure! :)Also, a nice view next to the canal!

Went there for a Saturday brunch with friends and everything was good until we received a terrible behaviour from the owner. We had a kid with us and since they don’t have anything for kids on the menu we brought some sandwiches for her to have. We have ordered drink and food for ourselves and we were the only customers in the restaurant. At some point the so calls owner comes and starts shouting at us and telling us off that he doesn’t want to see that food on the table as it’s not purchased from them. We tried to explain is for the child but his attitude was just awful. He said he doesn’t care he doesn’t want this on the table and to remove it straight away. This is not a customer service! We would definitely not come back there after we’ve been treated like this.Terrible experience and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

A little gem right at my doorstep. Been coming here for 3 years and the service has remained consistently amazing. Drinks and music and welcoming atmosphere makes this the best spot in Barking. Today in particular was a lovely sunny evening, the barman made a beautiful strawberry daiquiri and espresso martini, he came and asked about preferences, felt so attentive even though all the tables were full. The chips are delicious. Such a lovely place to go. I'm abit tipsy writing this because they don't scrounge on alcohol either. Perfect evening. Thank you.

What a nice surprise! Lovely and friendly staff. Nice coffee and cakes . River view was great. I will definitely come back. Parking might be difficult but well worth the walk if you have to park someway down Abbey road.Great Find. Thanks

Amazing atmosphere and great company and the owner really makes you feel apart of the place. Great food and drinks…the suggestions of Bora Bora tea was fantastic

First time to the Boathouse and I was pleasantly surprised by the location and the view which was lovely. It has a simple menu which also caters to vegans. Cocktail happy hour from 5pm to 7pm on selected cocktails. Reasonable prices and extremely friendly helpful staff who made you feel very welcome. Its open from morning to night is apparently so will go again sometime during the day at a weekend to check out the atmosphere. I met friends there and we had a lovely evening. Highly recommend.

We had such a great afternoon here in the sunshine. Good beer, delicious cocktails ( very strong, not watered down rubbish like you usually get). Staff were amazing and food was good. They had a BBQ on the go too which was cooked to order. Such a good place. We will be back.
