Great experience and amazing food! The manager/waiter Bodrul was really friendly and attentive, we were running late but they kept our table reserved. Our go to curry place in North London.

I went to bay leaf on valentines date.I can’t explain in words how nice was the food and their customer service.I can’t recall when I had such a great time last in a restaurant in london. They have the best mock-tails trust me!I don’t mind to pay a amount for my food if the environment of the restaurant is beautiful, food is delicious and customer service is excellent! Will definitely recommend this restaurant to all.I couldn’t post the main course photos as they I have only filmed them.

Entirely disappointed having travelled to visit on recommendation. Food was overpriced and portions small. On a table with four others, we would have ordered more had we realised that the portions were so small.Starters were presented on a dish with dry ice - whilst visually quite exciting, it seems a bit pointless with the food lacking in depth of flavour.Sorry to say, as it is my favourite cuisine, that I'll not be returning.

Expensive but definitely worth it with fantastic food you will notice the top quality difference to other restaurants and staff fantastic.

Absolutely loved every second we were there! We went for my cousins birthday meal. Service was amazing, always helping and checking on us. But the food, just the best! I'm usually quite fussy going to Indian restaurants and my family just fussy in general but this place just ticked so many boxes. The fact we could choose the spice levels helped even more considering me just prefer it that way! And then the little celebratory show they did for my cousin. Honestly, I can not fault this place! Must Go! :)

My son surprised me with a surprise birthday invitation to this restaurant. It was a truly memorable evening. The staff and manager were excellent and very helpful. The intros were exquisitely tasty and mocktails were fantastic. The starters were so beautifully presented and tasted so nice. The mains did not disappoint.Amazing food and brilliant service. I have no cause for complaint. A truly wonderful evening. Finally I felt it was excellent value for money. Thanks to everyone at Bayleaf. I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Went a couple of weeks ago. Decor was nice and the restaurant was clean. The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The owner/manager was quite passionate about the restaurant, which was nice. Food I thought was a bit old school Indian dining, and for the price, I don’t personally think was worth it. Mind you they were busy for a Wednesday night.

A film critic would award an Oscar to this restaurant. My first visit to the Bayleaf restaurant in Whetstone was way beyond my expectations. As a foodie of sorts, I tend to look for restaurants that everybody is talking about. As this restaurant is situated away from Central London, what a treat it must be for locals who would need to venture to London’s Mayfair to be served food of this calibre. I’m sure this must be one of the best kept gastronomical secrets of London.I could write a few paragraphs about the decor and the painstaking attention to detail the owner(s) have put into the design of the place right down to the aesthetically ergonomically designed coffee cups along with the rest of the crockery and cutlery which I believe are from Villeroy & Boch. Let’s leave that for readers of my experience to discover for themselves. I shall now go onto the most important aspect for me, the......food.Where do I start, the starters? In this case, no. Our taste buds first experienced the pappadoms. They were as one would expect, and not greasy. The amazing thing was the selection of condiments that accompanied the pappadoms. Such a well thought out combination of six items that surpassed what I had been served at Michelin starred restaurants. Our dinner table comprised of five friends, every one of whom could wear a “foodie” badge with pride. For starters, four of us chose the Jhinga Puri and one chose the Chicken 65. Over the years, a few of our friends have come to a certain consensus about ordering food at different types of restaurants. A few of us agree that Prawn Puri, or Jhinga Puri as it is named on the Bayleaf menu, is probably the best starter to try in a Bangladeshi owned establishment. Last night’s Jhinga Puri was the best of the best. The Chicken 65, I heard, was also very good, but I did not try that. We also had a couple of additional starters to share. These were The Momo and Crispy Kale Chaat. We were given a stunning presentation with the healthy dumpling type Momos with a table full of liquid nitrogen smoke. The Kale Chaat was a nice refresher to get us over the “pyrotechnics” at the table. For the main course, we decided on an assortment of dishes, and, as friends do, all shared everything that was presented to us. I shall list some of the items, as they are worth remembering for anybody wishing to visit this establishment. Our main dishes were Goan Fish Curry, Jhinga Bhuna, Punjabi Butter Chicken, Handi Chicken, Achari Dumba Gosht, and a very special Dum Pakht Biryani. For vegetable side dishes, we had Punjabi Daal Makhni, Bindi Jaypuri, Bindi Patiyala and Bombay Dum Aloo. Of course we had a selection of rice and breads with which to absorb the succulent juices from the “curries”.I was very pleased with our selection, as we had a range of dishes satisfying most tastes, starting from the subtle creamy taste of the Punjabi Butter Chicken to the mustard infused spicy taste of the Achari Dumba Gosht. The Goan Fish Curry was one that one dish that stood out, with very subtle spices, leaving you with the opportunity to savour the chunks of halibut.A detailed breakdown of every dish may prove to be quite lengthy reading, so I’ll leave readers with a “taster” of what is available at Bayleaf Restaurant. The best judge is one’s own taste buds. I cannot fault the service, very attentive and “clued-up” is how I would describe the wonderful front of house hosts that made our night such a memorable event. The first of many, I hope. One last word. Leave room for desserts!REVIEW SHORTENED DUE TO WORD LIMIT

Having had takeaways from Bayleaf over the years we decided to visit the restaurant. We were all glad we did. The staff were all polite, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was amazing and I don’t say that lightly. We ordered an appetizer, lovely. The three of us all had a different main dish and we ordered some side dishes. Everyone tried all the different dishes and there was not one we didn’t like. We couldn’t finish off everything but the staff were good enough to prepare it for us to take home. It would have been a shame to waste it! We managed 2 deserts which we shared. Everything was lovely. Looking forward to our next visit!
