Cosy pub brewing its own beer, with an intimate dining section serving pub classics, plus a garden.

Went here for work drinks and food. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Toilets were clean. Definitely will be back in the future

Avoid if you have any food allergies. Or like quality. I asked for no chips or coleslaw and received both. So didn't trust the rest of my food as I was worried it would make me unwell. The bread on my husbands' steak sandwich was a cheap medium sliced white bread, Really not worth the price tag. Its a nice pub to have a drink outside but if you want to eat, The Gate is a better alternative. Will not return to the Black Horse.

Great pub. Friendly staff, brilliant food, good value for money and a fun quiz on a Tuesday with bar tab and prosecco prizes. Would recommend and definitely go again.

Just had a cider. Free local band performed. Was expecting something tired and mediocre but very surprised at level of performers who were pension age but sounded terrific. Don't know their name

Despite phoning and booking no table reserved. No one tried to help. Used to be a really nice pub and great experience but clearly customers are not important anymore.

Used to be our favourite pub but thought it was boring last week. Some of the staff acting like it was super busy (it wasn't) kinda made our group uncomfortable.

Following a phone call with the manager, Nicky , I feel I was given a swift and genuine response. They assured me that this isnāt the standard they set for their vegetarian options and gave me a full refund. Not editing my review below for transparency but wanted to include this at the top. I hope future customers see the benefit of the changes that Black Horse seems to be in the process of making. Have given an extra stars 2 purely for the positive response of management. The disappointment I felt in the food here yesterday was more than I have had in a very long time. I didnāt kick up a fuss yesterday as I was with friends celebrating a happy occasion and thought maybe my expectations were too high, but on looking back at the menu I realise that the establishmentās expectations of their own food is what is too high.I had the chickpea and spinach burger with chips and halloumi chips on the side.- The burger was just the bun, a from frozen thin veggie patty from Iceland, lettuce, onion and tomato. No sauce, no guacamole, no yoghurt and simply NOT what is advertised here. Looking back Iām actually confused by the audacity of this menu description. I donāt even think I tasted a single chickpea?- The chips were good- The halloumi āchipsā were once again from frozen breaded cheese sticks they also most likely picked up from Iceland.Shocking and I truly regret not asking for a refund as someone who isnāt in the best financial spot and just wanted to use my money to enjoy a meal with friends.DO NOT dine here if you are vegetarian.

This is a very friendly and welcoming pub, had a pint of Moretti and the special: Pan fried steak and frites, really nice frites...ok chips, but twice cooked and delectable! Reasonable prices as well, I would definitely come here again!

Wonderful service from friendly & welcoming staff. Pub was quiet at the time. A new management with a new menu. Short of choice but super, comfortable pub with indoor / outdoor seating.

Such an amazing pub! Very decent outside decor and interior design, and like the cute garden very much. They hold live music performance frequently. Good craft beers and pub food.
