China Palace in Barnet

Please please to save everybodys time, dont order here. The food is decent, but their customer service is really bad. I ordered from just eat and waited almost an hour. When I called the restaurant apparently they called me and I did not pick up. But Ive been on my phone the whole time. The delivery driver should have arrived too. Whilst I was on the phone, he said the driver is back and sending him again. I dont understand why they need to lie. Once I finally got my order I interrogated the delivery man. He said they have 2 drivers and that they came and rang my doorbell already. He lied aswell, little did they know we have the "Ring" doorbell. We checked our video footage and there was no other deliveries besides the late one. Why do you guys lie?? Whats the point??

Food is generally good but poor customer service and long waiting times for delivery. I've been coming here for more than 10 years.Dropped down from 3 stars to 1 star as of december 2021. Got my order wrong. Ordered tofu in black bean sauce. Got tofu in a different sauce which tasted disgusting. In the bin it went.Called to complain and was told I can order it again with 50% discount. Not really good enough. Would have liked them to make the dish I actually ordered for free considering I paid for something I did not get.Very disappointed considering how often I order here.

I just loved their dishes. I always get good customer service there. The place is well kept and the workers are always welcoming. I highly recommend this place.

Idk why there's a lot of negative reviews here but their food is really delicious!!! My bf been ordering here for yearsss. Plus, very affordable!!! Unlike those other Chinese takeaways. Easy and straightforward to order!

So if I had judged this place based on Google I may have actually missed out on a gem! Warning for those, check out reviews via JUST EAT or other platforms, many thousands of happy customers.We collected, my partner had a few meat dishes (salt pepper wings and chow mein) and said they were the best in the area(Barnet side) - still very crispy indicating freshness and good packaging. I had the spicy tofu starter and some veg noodle dish and it was delicious. Everything was pipping hot, great size portions, very reasonably priced and just the service was mehh. I'm going again. It's not eat-in so I'm not too fussed about the service! 👏

King prawns are deep fried for some reason in dishes that aren't meant to be so you end up getting very soggy batter. Very disappointing and even the rest of the food is quite bad. Would definitely avoid this place

Called China palace for delivery was rather rude at first called again placed order meant to arrive at 6:30pm to 7 called 7:40pm to find out my order was not even been put down though I was given a price. Been ordering from them for years now I don't believe I will be going back any longer they have lost my service.

My partner and I have ordered food from here before and it wasn't terrible. However, let me visualise the series of events for you: Saturday night, super busy and typical rubbish British weather (queue heavy downpours of rain!) And we ordered similar food to what we've ordered previously through just-eat. Order gets confirmed for an hour's time. So far so good right?Well an hour goes past and nothing. We think let's be patient it is bound to be a busy time for them. So we give them the benefit of the doubt and wait. 15 mins go by and just-eat suddenly marks our order as delivered, but guess what....no food has been delivered to our door!!! The shock!So my partner calls them up and gets a right Berk on the other end who says they are 1 minute away but have been held up because of the rain?!! Did the rain pin the guy down and tell him he was having a time out or something???Another 15 mins go by and the guy turns up (I guess the rain gave up and let him go right?) And hands us the food with no apology whatsoever.Huzzah we have food right? Wrong!My partner had order a Thai green curry and when he opened it up it was so grey and watery he thought it was soup at first (though I'm not sure why since we didn't order any but hey ho!) And what should have been a straightforward prawn chow mein for me consisted of a grand total of 3 prawns shoved on top of a plain chow mein. To top it all off the chicken dumplings were only half cooked and ended up being a soggy mess.To say I was annoyed is putting it mildly, but for my partner to call them back and get that same Berk on the phone well....let's just say the conversation didn't go too well. When my partner explained what was wrong all the guy did was argue the food was fresh and just cooked and I quote "I packed loads of prawns on top myself!" When my partner asked to speak to the manager the Berk said he wasn't around and to call back in 10-15mins to which my partner said umm no have him call me back as I'm sick of chasing you guys.We are now 2hrs after that conversation and do you think we've had s phone call?You guessed it!! NADA zip nothing!So if you have gotten to the end of my little tale my advice to you is this:Don't go here, don't order from here online, just stay the hell away if you value your money, your time, your taste buds and your sanity!

It arrived hot. And on time. Driver was nice. But the food is awful. 1st time i ordered from here . Never again. Chicken chow mein no taste and greasy. Pork chinese style fatty. . Should have read the reviews first

Waited 1.15 Min for the order to turn up after telling us it would 45 Mins delivery.The first time i have used this place and the last.Rice was all stuck together.Not sure what the meat was or if it was cooked?The noodles were burnt and tasted of ash.The meal went in the bin.Called the restaurant and they didn't seem to bothered. Waste of money!
