IL Funghetto Spaghetteria + Pizzeria in Barnet

We used to come here often before lockdown.Disappointed to come back now. It is tired and underwhelming. The staff are nowhere near as friendly or welcoming as they used to be. They were overbearing and impatient. They persist in making assumptions and come across as rude.Food is ok, but not great. Portions are adequate. Not one dish stood out. Desserts are horrible and covered in over sugared fake sauces or just over sugared, except the zabaglione which is good (for those who want that) Even the free limoncello is stingy and also hideously sweet.I will be taking my money to nearby Tocco d Artista which is a bit cramped but the staff are welcoming, warm, friendly and patient. The food is fantastic there and the desserts are far better. They are generous and it's a better experience in general than Il Funghetto.

I've booked this place for a special occasion and it was on a Tuesday night. Niot too many customers (every time I pass by this place is packed) but it made the night even better. The staff was not very busy so they were having time for some jokes with us. The food was absolutely amazing, therefore I had to eat to the last bite. Thank you very much for this lovely experience. I'll be back.

I will start by saying I have now confirmed as an Italian living in UK, that locals like eating trash and restaurants will hire a so call ‘chef’ from middle east to cook food they don’t have experience with!Is the second time ordering from them (just decided to give it a last chance), and the last after receiving unflavoured food (no salt, no pepper no nothing) I’m a chef with over 10 years of experience and this restaurant and the guy they have in their kitchen should feel ASHAMED of scamming people with such bad quality! I called the restaurant to tell them very politely that the food was horrible and in the back I can hear the so called chef after the person on the phone tells them the food wasn’t up to standards saying we sell a lot so I don’t care. I would love to go in person to this restaurant and actually do a real minestrone and a real pollo al limone with REAL FLAVOUR as done in an Italian household so he can learn to cook and be fired! If I could I would have given 0 stars.Chicken dryPlain with no flavour AT ALLpotatoes overdoneLemon dressing is more oil that anything else!

Been here a few times when visiting our son, 10 of us went, food great and timely service and staff very friendly and helpful. One person was vegan and they accommodated her every need

I got delivered a Bufalina.I was tracking the delivery and from the moment it left the shop to when it got here less than 5 minutes passed. However the pizza arrived almost cold, I had to reheat it but in doing so it burnt in one second.The cherry tomatoes, I was expecting them to be the orange ones that are normally quite tasty and these red ones were not that tasty. Same for the mozzarella di bufala, I could barely taste it. Giving 4 stars because the dough was very good and altogether the pizza is good for being London. (I am Italian)

Lovely and friendly staff along with absolutely delicious food. Atmosphere here is lively as it's popular for birthdays. We both had pasta dishes that were so tasty and authentic. Feel very lucky to live near such an authentic Italian restaurant.Lemoncello shot at the end was also a nice touch.

Amazing food, amazing people. If you're looking for a GENUINE Italian place in London, this is it! I personally suggest getting the Tiramisu as a dessert! Handmade and truly delicious!

Lovely friendly restaurant, delicious food and not too expensive. The dishes were a good size, full of flavour and the garlic bread was actually a tomato sauce topped one which made a change from usual garlic bread.

Went here to celebrate my first week at my new job. Great service and the staff remembered us from when they worked in Hendon some 15 odd years ago.

Personally my favourite restaurant in North Finchley. I have never been disappointed from anything I have ordered from the menu. Lots of local Italians eat here and the food is as authentic as it gets. Portion sizes are very generous too. The service is excellent and a limoncello at the end of the meal is always a classy touch
