*UPDATE*When I left this review it was a Cuban restaurant and I loved it. I haven't visited since it became an Ethiopian one. Not sure if it is the same management/owners so unable to confirm if the following still applies....Great little local restaurant.... food, service and the atmosphere are great all at prices that make it good value.

Such a lovely restaurant with beautiful decor. Very clean, the lady was so lovely and welcoming, the food was amazing and fresh. We had the lamb Samsoa, Lentil Samosa which was nice and light with a beautiful garlic dip.I would recommend this place. Its 10/10.

Review re-posted from my Instagram food blog: @worldlyflavoursBalseros is a beautiful little restaurant serving traditional Ethiopian cuisine. As it was my first time trying Ethiopian food, I leant on the very lovely waitress (possibly shop owner?) for advice on which dishes to try. She recommended the sambusas (very similar to samosas) and Balseros Special as it provided a variety of flavours within one dish. As we ordered the lamb and lentil sambusas, I was able to sample both and they were equally delicious. The main though… WOW. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the lentils were completely different to any other lentil dish I’ve had before. All of the flavours were perfectly complemented by the injera flat bread (similar to dosa). The portions were plentiful so you do need to have a big appetite to get through the whole dish (we didn’t manage it!), but it’s perfect for sampling a range of traditional Ethiopian cuisine.Balseros is definitely somewhere I’d recommend going to if you’re local (or not). The hospitality and food were truly incredible, and to me this is a restaurant that deserves to thrive!Note: I’d recommend finishing off your meal with traditional Ethiopian tea/coffee (not on the menu). The tea is quite bitter so sugar is necessary, but it’s full of aromatic spices so is probably great for digestion!

We recently visited and quickly became fans of this place. We ordered Balseros special and some deserts which were very tasty. Coffee ceremony was a new experience for me and drinking coffee from freshly fried (in front of you) beans was refreshing and boosty to try. Highly recommend!

Lovely and friendly staff. The food is delicious and good value for your money. We got a set menu of starters, main and dessert for two people and it was more than enough for three people. I will be definitely going there again. Thank you for the great customer service!!

Really enjoyed a boys night out here. Food was great and decent portions of the sharing plates that we ordered. Cocktails and beer just to top it off! Understand it's now an Ethiopian restaurant whereas it was a Latino restaurant when we visited. Not an obvious change but will have to check the new menu out to see what's now on offer.
