Came as a walk in for an outside table with our 6 week old baby and they explained there were no tables available but some should be available in an hour and they agreed to reserve a table. We said we are happy to wait as we would walk around the park for the next hour and they offered to take our number to call if a table became free earlier. Half an hour later we had a call that there was a table free for us so we made our way back. Once settled at the table, we were asked to move to another one by staff to accommodate another couple and swap with with them and once sat down on the second table, we were asked to move to a bench where we could not get our pram to. We explained that the third table option would not allow the pram through and we were told that it is the only option as we are walk ins and their priority is the reservations ignoring the fact they took a reservation for us. We explained that they called us saying there was a table knowing we had a pram so if this wasn’t an option why did we get a call to come back. The staff member again said that their priority is the booked reservations and that’s the only table they can offer outside implying it’s not his problem that we can’t get our pram to the table. We were offered a table inside but we were very clear from our initial conversation (before when they offered to take our number and call back) that we would like a table outside. Ended up being a complete waste of our time and we left. The staff member made us feel really unwelcome and couldn’t care less. We don’t understand why they called us to say a table was available when there wasn’t. Won’t be going back again, clearly don’t cater for people with young children.

The Stables hosted a post funeral gathering yesterday for my late mother in law. There were at least 50 guests. The buffet food was plentiful, varied and well cooked and it kept coming - great value for money. Our guests loved it. The staff behind the bar especially Darren were polite friendly and really hard working. We were delighted with the Stables and it’s staff and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as a venue for a function. Thankyou.

What has happened to the breakfast? I really enjoy my morning walk on a Saturday round the park then a delicious traditional breakfast which is brilliant value for money. But the last two visits the breakfast hasn’t been so good: sausages are dry and look like they have been cooked the previous day; bacon very salty; thought I would try scrambled egg for a change: dry and cold what a shame! And the toast wasn’t great either bread has changed! Perhaps supplier has changed or chef?

We hosted our wedding reception at Danson Stables back in November and had a great time.We had the full menu available to us if we wished but made the decision to select 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts for guests to choose from. Not many people have Burgers or Fish and Chips on their wedding menu but we love to be different. All our guests were extremely complimentary of the food on offer and portions were very generous so everyone left very happy. With 45 Guests we had just enough space for everyone and even had a make shift dance floor. he use of the speaker system was complimentary enabling us to have music throughout and we had both confetti and sparklers in the carpark.Intimate weddings can still be fantastic. Check our the blogs on our website to see how me managed to host our wedding for ÂŁ3500.

Nice pub and great outdoor space, we had an area booked. The process of ordering at the bar is quite chaotic leading to queues and people stood about blocking the entrance way as they wait to queue and order. Good food and range of drinks though, would definitely visit again.

A large group of us went for a work leaving lunch. We'd booke an outside seating but they let us use the function room instead as it was raining. The food was lovely and the service good. The atmosphere was very laid back - dog and child friendly. Definately would go again.

Delicious food (when the order was correct) The salad my date ordered was missing ingredients mentioned on the menu. The staff was really friendly but really inattentive. Not a good first impression for this establishment.

Lovely place, food is amazing and drinks are fairly good price. Bit disappointed the mirrors behind the bar were really smeary and decor needs a fresh coat of paint. Staff were very polite but instead of standing there talking there is other things they could be doing like asking customers if food is ok and general cleaning. Lovely big area outside with large seating area too

Really didn't enjoy your cream tea which my daughter purchased for my mum's 80th birthday after we made a Christmas door wreath upstairs. The wreath making was a brilliant experience but feel the cream tea spoiled the occasion.I seemed it had been made in advance and refrigerated - it was far too cold. The cheese was hard in the sandwiches. We asked to take the mini cakes home because they were too cold - some of the cream was still frozen in the profiteroles. The young waiter kindly gave us some boxes. The cost is ÂŁ12 a head - which was stated on the website & on the menu. My daughter had prebooked & paid a ÂŁ15 deposit in advance. We were given a bill for ÂŁ66!! When we queried it, it was changed to ÂŁ54! It took four members of staff to work out 3 x ÂŁ12 less ÂŁ15 deposit!! I actually felt sorry for the young waiter who was going back & forwards- he looked so embarrassed and none of it his fault. Not the best experience for mum's 80th cream tea! Very disappointed.
