Sakonis in Brent

Had the lunch buffet on a Sunday. Arrived at 12 sharp. 30 min later it was almost full, so better arrive early. The buffet was great, such a feast. Loved everything. Staff was very attentive, would come to the tables whenever fresh dosa/bread was available, before taking it to the buffet. A bit pricey compared to other Indian veggie buffets but well worth it. I'll come back, but watch out for the food coma afterwards

We were here for Mothers Day as my mother loves Sakonis usually. We hadn’t been to the Wembley branch for a very long time, maybe 3-4 years ago as we go to the Harrow branch usually. But as we needed to do some Indian clothing shopping, we decided to incorporate a visit here. To simply put… we were left disappointed.For Mother’s Day it was Buffet Only. There was a lack of choice I felt especially for such a busy in demand period. We had expectations the choice of dishes would be on par if not better than the Harrow branch. For example - They had their main dishes, chilli paneer etc. However we have somewhat been accustomed to having a wider choice as the Harrow branch has Chilli Paneer, Mushrooms, Tofu as well as other dishes from the menu.There’s a difference in price too by a few pounds with Wembley being more expensive for one person. Not sure why? With the lack of choice.Now, more specific to our experience. There was literally no food at long durations of the buffet. No food at all. Being told by staff it would be 10 minutes, another saying some of the food had finished. It got to the point where staff had to tell us and other patrons that they have closed it for a few minutes so that they could replenish. I actually felt sorry for the staff as it was busy and they just could not cope with the amount of customers, and the amount of food they needed to turnaround. The staff were generally accommodating and the ones we interacted with, including the duty manager were positive under pressure. We were also told that Wembley and Harrow are under different ownership too at this point when I raised with the Duty Manager who was also generous enough to discount our bill due to the food experience which we weren’t expecting. We went back and they had replenished the khichri and fried poppadoms. The paneer eventually came, although the wait was long, it was tasty and fresh. But £17 for Chilli Paneer and some other mediocre dishes? I’m not sure if Sakonis Buffet is that great anymore. I would go again, but only as A La Carte and will amend the review once I visit again, perhaps one of the other branches in Hatch End or Kingsbury.

Great vegan dishes and love coming here with my wife. Very polite staff and nice interior. Some items can be very spicy.

We went to have nice quiet family dinner. We ordered some masala tea to start with and I was so disappointed with it. It tasted so strong it was not nice.Then we ordered some masala chip, chilli paneer, mysore masala dosa, cheese dosa and bhajiya.The starters were pretty good but the mains really disappointed me again the mysore masala was just not to my taste, their overpowering simple dishes which is not complementing the food.There service was poor, we kept on having to call them for sauces, sugar and tissues etc.Don't think i ll be visiting here again.

Very good Indian restaurant. The food was amazing and very tasty. Chefs did superb job with spices and each food had different flavours. Places is not expensive as you can get your food for 20 pounds and eat as much you can overall very good experience and very good food. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I visited the place for the first time and I think the food was good but the service was miserable. We ordered soup and Chinese and they brought us our mains(one by one and a considerable amount of time in between them as well) before soup. So because we were full and could not have the soup we decided we will take it for parcel and when we asked them to pack it, the lady just brought us everything, kept it on the table and left saying nothing and started waiting other tables beside us. So we had to pack it on our own. Terrible service and staff.

Family run restaurant which had been offering is delicious food for decades. Loyal clientele we met is enough to draw new customers.Breakfast buffet is not extensive but gives you taste of different parts of India. Dosa ( plain or masala), upma from South; Poori from North, Poha from Maharashtra, Dhokla and fafda from Gujarat topped off with crispy and juicy jalebis to represent whole of India (no representation brain from the north east). They also serve lightly sliced tea.Value for money with a friendly service.

100% worth the visit. The food is very nice and there is a lot of variety, service is very good - all staff are polite, especially the staff member with the tattoos and the red bangles she took extra care of us and made our day even though the shop was very busy. She gave us the best service I’ve had from such a restaurant. The lunchtime buffet is also top class, I fully recommend.
