Great boozer. Wish they had a few more GF beers available though. Try and get a room in the old safe if you can.

Always like the pub and the standard menu has always been good. Christmas meal though has a lot to be left to be desired but they did have to get the chef replaced on short notice. Looking at the balance of the Christmas menu it could of been better to proportion sizes and should be kept set not allowing us to customer to pick. Will still come back though.

Style over substance. Perfect if you don’t value good food and customer service at a fair price. £7 for 5 tiny Halloumi fries with a sprinkling of pomegranate seeds in the smallest dish I’ve ever seen for a side. My friend ordered the pork Sunday roast. The pork was dry, overdone and tiny. The potatoes and carrots were boiled (not roasted) and the Yorkshire pudding was soft. All topped off with a cold watery gravy. We ordered a side of macaroni cheese which was hard and cold. The staff treat you like a nuisance and it took over half an hour to get the bill. Sylvan Post clearly have a lot to learn. AVOID!

Came for a Sunday roast. Staff nice, but the food was so disappointing. All the veg was completely undercooked - the potatoes were barely roasted at all. Carrots were rock hard, and not maple glazed - which is what the menu says. A shame as it’s a nice pub. Wouldn’t come back for food again.

This pub has a good range of beers. The food is great, the atmosphere of the pub is good. The staff are helpful & friendly. If you are in the Forest Hill area you should try it.

Great spot with booths and fun tucked away areas, wonderful staff, good selection of beers, good finger good options. The mulled wine and the expresso Martini were both much too sweet, and I wouldn't recommend the expresso martini at £9.50 this is not the place for it.

Pub is fine, service is poor. Entire staff was stood behind the bar, had to ask to be served which is not a big deal. Bartender asked to verify my age, also not a big deal. Showed my ID, then he asked me to lower my mask. Wasn't exactly comfortable doing that but thought, yknow, he's just doing his job. The moment I did he said "now I can tell" charming 😂 no need to do your job and be rude, just the one please 😉

What a find! Delicious lunch wraps and some very friendly service. I was very well looked after... And no queueing like in a real Post Office. Can't wait to go back.

Situated in an old Post Office this pub with dining is really worth a visit. Walking through the door it looks a bit basic but don't be put off. The staff are really friendly and attentive and their service is very good. The food is freshly cooked, very tasty and reasonably priced.

It's a cool venue, set in the old post office, the staff are lovely & there's a good selection of drinks but the food (based on the roast dinner) was pretty average. I wouldn't have minded if it was a bit cheaper but at £16.50 for the beef roast for it to just be a thin slice of sandwich beef was very underwhelming. The roast veg as well, i suspect, on the whole was part cooked and then just flash fried to heat it up, so it was crunchy, bordering on burnt, on the outside and pretty al dente on the inside (for the potatoes, parsnips and carrots). The Yorkshire was nice and big but cooked so hard and dry which, some people might like, but I prefer it to be a little softer and less like a crisp. Like I say, everything else was 5/5 but the food was really underwhelming in this day and age when there's so many pubs doing amazing roast dinners.
