A very nice, old fashioned pub. No food except weekends, so i can't comment. Lovely clean , smart ladies room. A bit quiet, no music.

Hands down my favourite place in the area, very clean, and such a cozy atmosphere for a quality beer and conversation, can’t ever go wrong with a pint of Samuel Smith in my opinion!

Proper pub with fantastic beer can't believe more people don't go there as it is how all pubs should be!

Popped in mid Sunday afternoon with a friend. What a fabulous oasis of quiet. Lovely bar lady, great pint, great wood panelled atmosphere, our conversation interrupted only by the sound of snooker balls colliding. This place should be heaving with punters. Don't tell anyone. It's our little secret.

Quiet, classic Samuel Smith Pub. Nice staff and interesting local clientele. If your soul is in sorrow, have a pint. Great traditional pub if you fancy a digital detox (no phones or laptop).

The pub is amazing and it has so much history concerning Arthur Conan Doyle and his great detective Sherlock Holmes. Great decor and immaculately clean due to the present times. Don the manager was a great host and the Bar lady was attentive and polite. Luke the barman was polite and friendly, would definitely go back here without a doubt. Vintage vibe — mobile phones not allowed! I really liked this traditional pub and will definitely be back. I do have a few suggestions for the management (others may disagree). I personally like the "no mobiles" rule that they have, but I think they could do it in a more tasteful manner. For example, instead of having lots of signs taped up on nearly every part of the walls, perhaps just one at the bar and maybe one or two elsewhere? There's a way to get the message across without it being tacky or overbearing. Secondly, I appreciated that there wasn't loud or obnoxious music... But the complete and total silence is a bit... uncomfortable, especially when the pub is quiet. It would be nice if there was just a tiny little hint of music in the background. Maybe even just traditional folk music or classical even, just to add a bit of atmosphere.

Good old-fashioned pub with perfectly acceptable food and Sam Smith's beer all at good prices. Typical working class South London clientele are .... what they are.
