Avoid at all costs. Bar staff rude especially girl that served us (long brown hair name beginning with a C) Was more interested looking on her phone than serving us and does not know how to say please or thank you. All our food was clearly cooked from frozen or fried. Not homemade. We were revisiting again as had been previously a long time ago. We will not bother coming again and wasting our money. Highly disappointed. If you are looking for a lovely home cooked meal, a warm welcome with friendly bar staff, do not go here.

Popped in for a drink after visiting Down House. Nice pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Friendly and good service.

So pleased we came into the George & Dragon. The food, beer and service have been fantastic. The steak and ale pie was brilliant, and the perfect place for a Sunday lunch. It’s a lovely pub in West Kent, Downe.

Cute pub, standard pub fare-food was ok. Beer and ale selection was boring.

The young lady who served us was very welcoming and ready to take our orders immediately. Throughout our visit she kept checking that all was well. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend.

Come here for Sunday lunch not impressed at all,If I could I wouldn’t give any stars, my husband ordered the soup of the day, when it was brought out the bread had mould on it clearly not a 5* food hygiene rating which is advertised on the website. My sons roast dinner was brought out at time of our starters at our request, the vegetables looked like they had been sitting around for all day, the Yorkshire pudding was flat as a pancake. The service was slow, the young waiter couldn’t tell us what the soup of the day was as he was new, the atmosphere was very dull, it was cold inside, there’s more life in a funeral parlour.Definitely won’t be recommending the George & the Dragon for food, probably best to stick with serving pints and not food.

First time visiting the George & Dragon, greeted by a lovely bar attendant Denise, who sat us at a table very quickly, chatting and making myself and my daughter feel very welcome, and to be honest, like we've know each other for years. Obviously my daughter asked for a burger, not my thing, but we both decided we would try them, which I can say was the best burger I have ever had, would definitely recommend it, they cater for all, and do what ever they can to make your visit pleasurable, they have a garden at the back, so child friendly, toilets where immaculate, I would highly recommend this pub, not just for the food, but how welcoming everyone is, including the chef, who came out to ensure we had enjoyed our food. Treat yourselves, the George & Dragon is the place to go

Best pie with steak I ever had, lovely historical pub where Darwin used "to have a few" between one journey and the other, amazing outdoor space with bouncy castle. perfect for daddie who want to enjoy a pint while there kids play. Love the orango on the rooftop (I guess it has something to do with Darwin... :-)

Don't think I will be going back again. London prices in the middle of nowhere. Quality of food very mediocre. Never had to pay £4.30 for a pint of fosters outside of London. Also, next to the food we had here, wetherspoons is fine dining. On the menu it says a burger/hot dog comes with fried onions but apparently you still need to ask for it when ordering. So, don't forget to do that because otherwise your burger/hot dog will literally be a dry piece of bread with some meat. They tend to run out of ketchup because of this which led to me running un around the place for 15 mins in search of some. Also, make sure you ask for a receipt cuz they wont give it to you out of their own. Very suspicious I would say but i guess every penny counts.
