Hayes Street Kitchen in Bromley

We have been here several times before and have generally had a good experience but our last visit was stressful and annoying.We understand when things go wrong but how it is dealt with is important.My husband ordered egg, chips with thick cut ham and actually commented when placing the order how much he was looking forward to the thick cut ham (which he had had in the past). When it arrived it was thin and wet and obviously from a packet. He queried this with the waitress who explained that they had changed the meal but hadn't reprinted the menus and basically told him to eat it.Reluctantly she gave him a plate to put the unwanted ham on.She discounted the meal by 30% which meant that we paid 70% For egg and chips.When our final bill arrived we noticed that we had been overcharged for milkshakes. The waitress said that the price had gone up. We asked to see the menu, eventually she showed us a menu with sticky labels over the prices, we asked to see the menu that we had been given originally. We knew that this did not have have labels on it.Finally the waitress conceded and agreed that we had been given an old menu and that not all menus had been updated. Her attitude was that she had already given us a discount on the ham and wasn't prepared to honour the prices in the menu.It is a shame as we won't be going again as her dismissive attitude spoilt the meal.

Brought a tea and coffee and sat indoors while waiting to collect our daughter.

Simple, freshly-prepared sandwiches and light meals. Pleasant and good value. Friendly, helpful staff. No scones when I visited- I might give another star for a home-made scone next time!

Had Southern Fried Chicken Wrap with chips and salad today and it was delicious. I definitely recommend. All the staff were polite and friendly and willing to help. Will be making a return visit to try other items on the menu.

Exceptional food and great service!We had a lovely experience in Heyes Street Kitchen today. We've ordered spaghetti pomodoro and a falafel wrap, both came quick and were amazing! The staff and the owner were absolutely lovely and super helpful.Delicious, organic food and a lovely atmosphere. I definitely recommend popping by, we will also be coming back soon.

The best BLT sandwich in bromley but make sure its not toasted! Made me one with toast today if though i just asked for white bread. So 1 star less. Nice cafe and owner, Mo is lovely.

Lovely food, I had eggs benedict. Service could be improved though. ..forgot the side order then took quite a while to bring over 2 cups of tea. Nice place for lunch though. Beware, you now have to pay to park on the road.
