I have many food intolerances and the knowledgeable staff put my mind at ease, that I could safely eat here. Hard to find a place that I can eat a roast dinner, with gluten free Yorkshire & gravy 👌 we were delighted with our hearty, fresh, tasty roast dinner, friendly staff, brilliant service & great range of drinks 😊

Friendly staff and great food. The Thai green curry and Scampi were delicious, as is the sticky toffee pudding. A lovely place to get some food and a nice ambience topped off by some super friendly staff.

Reasonable meal but a lot of room for improvement. Greeting was poor but table service was pretty good. Drinks menu is broad and Beavertown Neckoil on draft is nice. Portions are a good size. No one could finish but the plates are tiny so you are fighting to get at anything the whole meal. Kids desserts were poor. ‘Mini Milk’. Little one was happy out the 6 year old dissatisfied. When you factor in how difficult parking is, there are easier options. It’s not terrible, it’s just not great.

Just wanted to share what a great pub the Imperial Arms is for a Sunday Roast. We had the Vegan Roast last week and it was so delicious. The pub has a friendly welcoming atmosphere and the staff are really lovely and attentive. The Impy never disappoints - would highly recommend.

In the top 10 pub guide for Sunday lunch...no 5. Fabulous fresh and large portions. Amazing roast beef..pork and crackling ..chicken...just sensational. Great atmosphere and service too..Will be back !!!!

Great pub with a cosy environment. The menu was interesting and the food was great. You could tell they took pride in their food because the oil it was cooked in was fresh. Nice pint of Guinness too.

·

Good vegan options. Very well cooked delicious and fresh food. Lovely interior, dog friendly and great service. Knocking one star simply because there was only one vegan option for Sunday lunch (more on the regular menu) which could be expanded hopefully!

Absolutely great place to batten down the hatches to ride out Storm Eunice. 'Fish Friday' was a great lunchtime success with battered cod so long it was falling over the plate, majestic garlic King Prawns, succulent griddled haddock and a perfect Philly steak baguette for those who can't do fish. Superb 70s and 80s music masked the storm outside, perfect service and fine ciders guaranteed all went well. Would highly recommend for a quiet meal for two or for larger reunions. A veritable time capsule which still retains the same ambience as it did back in the 80s. Will be returning very soon.

Update........Tryed the fish Friday menu tonight and was delicious, plus you can still order from the bistro menu so plenty of choices including whole lobster and surf and turf. There's a pre book Christmas menu available for the 1st-23rd of December which looks excellent value for money, small deposit required.Great building with plenty of history.Booked bistro for a Sunday roast dinner.Foods good, does get very busy especially for Sunday lunches.Nice bistro and courtyard.Staff amazing! Professional, polite and attentive. Will definitely revisit and try the fish menu available on Friday's.Very limited parking.
