The usual unwelcome feeling. If your a local your greeted with open arms. But as a new face your left waiting and made to feel like a hinderance. Clearly more proof that a leopard doesn't change it's spots.Such a shame as it's a lovely pub with lots of fantastic features and a fabulous outside area.

If you want a warm friendly welcome, then avoid this place! Don't think the owner likes cyclists and he made every effort to make us feel unwelcome so we just got on our bikes and rode on. From the responses to reviews on Google it looks like he should not be in the hospitality industry!

Wow, wow, wow! I have never experienced such a sour faced grumpy "welcome" at a pub ever before. Didn't even stay long enough to order just had to get back on the bike and leave. Maybe they just hate cyclists but I certainly won't be going back to find out.

I have never posted but thought on this occasion this might be helpful to others. A nice pub but to mention apart from having to search out knives and forks if in the garden eating(the basket was empty) so food was cold by time we had been given some, I then specifically asked upon ordering if we could have the sweet and latte served together. After the third time of asking for lattes they were delivered post sweets. We asked the waitress if we could speak to and bring this to the managers attention but no one came out to us. I’m sure this pub will continue to do well given it location but you have lost us as customers since we value customer service.

Went with a walking group. 18 of us!! Food excellent, service amazing. Especially as there was so many of us and we hadn't pre ordered. We'll done to all the staff

Had a lovely family lunch today for my sons 18th. Food was great and we were well looked after. Thank you.

Really lovely pub. Great atmosphere. Good sized garden area with panoramic views from the front over Kent countryside. Cosy inside seating with lovely ambience. Good quality food - fish & chips seemed a popular choice with other patrons. We had baguettes - still very tasty. Would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Very nice outdoor area, nice cozy interiors.Very pleasant and attentive staff.Had the Cheddar Cheese Burger as a lunchtime meal whilst hiking through the area. I think it was around £12.50 including chips and a little side salad and slaw (not including drink).Burger was pretty average, and was just bun, patty, and cheese (I don't know what I was expecting really).Could have done with a few little cheap extras such as fried onions or gherkins which really would have made a difference.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR FOOD. If you are looking for decent pub food this is not the place to go - the food was cheap frozen food that had been warmed up & was luke warm when served. The atmosphere is good & service is average. Overall a bad experience.

Nice pub. Nice staff. Average Sunday lunch to be honest. Nothing bad but nothing special I'm afraid. There are other pubs in the area better. I do go back to hope it's got better. Not yet I'm afraid...
