It's an old pub, but with a fantastic modern decor inside. Beautiful paints and prints on the wall, very cozy environment and interesting furniture. The food is really good, that's why I ordered a burger which was perfectly cooked and the staff was very helpful and smily. Beautiful back garden in the sunshine. (only one thing, it's a bit pricy... but what isn't these days)

Really nice atmosphere, friendly, & truly considerate service in this intriguing pub/theatre. On several levels, a good layout, & nice quirky decor including a random hen on a ledge! We went for the theatre (nice, comfy, & appropriately intimate atmosphere upstairs) but, on seeing the extensive & varied online menu, booked a table for dinner too, receiving prompt email conformation. It was really busy - Saturday night, so unsurprising - but the service wasn't at all slow & they were very accommodating as we only had time for drinks (nice local beers for my friend, & extra points for them stocking the increasingly prevalent Fever Tree tonics waters for me) & starters before the show but they kept our tab open & relocated us away from the passageway to the loos & right next to the bar for the main course afterwards which meant we were near everyone relevant for the post show chats, instead of hidden around the corner. Not just your basic pub menu, this was really good quality, tasty, & substantial food, particularly the falafel/hummus/flatbread starter, & the salmon/broccoli fishcakes! The roasted sea bass was perfectly cooked & delicious, & the staff were understanding & attentive to my request for identifying items without cow's milk, rather than looking perplexed, uncomfortable, & vague, as I've experienced elsewhere recently. Conveniently located close to Penge West station. I hope to return soon.

Went for a Sunday lunch with kids and friends - nice big table, plenty of space which is always a good start. Nice drink selection and food was excellent. Roast was good quality, well portioned and had plenty of veg. There were numerous vegan and veggie options through the whole menu, which is not always the case, and everyone in the party found something to their liking. Table service was offered throughout and staff were helpful, polite and consistent - never felt the need to chase anyone.Lots of clean plates and satisfied people - great place for a Sunday lunch after a stroll in Crystal Palace park.

The food was ok. The fish finger sandwich is generic out of the box fishfingers and way too much tomato (19 slices across 3 sandwiches, 1 replacement) in each sandwich. Pulled pork, very little filling. Not worth £8.50 imo.

·

Nice pork roast and decent beers. The atmosphere inside on Sunday afternoon is noisy and welcoming with lots of groups eating and drinking. The back section of the pub is a bit dark and dingy but otherwise a good feed after a nice park walk.

New favourite pub. High ceilings, well-decorated, very reasonably priced drinks. Good food. Helpful friendly staff.

Atmosphere good, quite kitch decor. For pubs in the local £6 a pint is quite pricey. The sunday roast price is reasonable at £13 to £17. The roast Chicken seemed popular as it was sold out by 3pm. Disappointed with the pork, as it had grisly type tubers.

Excellent food and friendly staff. We booked the evening for my colleagues send off. However, customers are allowed to bring their dogs into the restaurant which is really unsettling for me and my colleagues. One of my colleagues have allergy to dogs' hair. It's not a good experience for her. Some of the dogs are running around!!!.They should realised that not everyone likes dog.I'm definitely not going there again.

A lovely, quirky pub close to Crystal Palace park. We visited over a bank holiday weekend and had a fabulous experience! Our drinks were excellent and we very much enjoyed the vibes👌🏼. Prompt customer service. We'll visit again for some food 🍔🍟

Lovely pub with a great vibe. It was busy but the staff were very accommodating and helpful. Ordering was intuitive and didn't feel like a big fuss, which was nice because it allowed us to enjoy our chat and drinks. Also very accommodating of our dog, bought her a bowl of water and refilled it. Encouraging of dogs, which was lovely for our dog.The food was incredible. Undeniably, there was a wait but it was well worth the wait and money paid when the food arrived. Staff were mega patient about the bill.Overall, an easy and intuitive experience to order. Staff were perfect, food matched the standard. Had a wonderful time. Although the menu is on the pricier side, all pubs are now. With the loss of free house pubs, these prices are to be expected. AND, this is one of few modern pubs that I would say the money and time spent was completely reciprocated with a wonderful experience.
