Since last time I have been, (some time ago) they have extended the amount of booths outside with televisions in the new ones. Inside is still impressive. The food is good here, the staff are very nice and the place is still keeping up with cleanliness, something lacking in some establishments. Recommend visit.

Friendly staff. The place looks very nice. Good choice on the menu and the prices are mid range. Wasn't so keen on the pork bits in the sharer platter, just a bit too much fat but the rest was lovely. Very nice large outside beer garden too so perfect for summertime. Would recommend visiting!

I used to walk/drive pass the Elm Tree, but never went in.. until one day a friend said let's meet there... I was like wow great food, great drinks, fast and friendly service, as for the beer garden it's the best I've been to for a long time... sunny, with many tables and chairs, plus the booth with TV screens...Overall 5/5, and a big well done

I would like to say a big thank you to Niall and all the team at The Elm Tree. They held our fathers wake in early May, and I have to say it was superb. The food, atmosphere and decor added to our celebration, and along with their wonderful customer service, lifted all the worry off our shoulders. Thank you again guys. Pat and Vic. X

I visited the Elm Tree last Saturday with my family/friends and we had a new born baby with us. We all sat near the bar to watch the rugby and just before the match finished (around 6:30pm) we asked a bar staff if we can move to the restaurant area to order dinner (he could clearly see a baby n my arm). He told us that it is fine and allowed us all to go and order food at the bar. After we all ordered, we were told we have to leave because no under 18s are allowed after 7pm and we can all get a refund processed! The restaurant was almost empty as well. They made a whole big deal out of it and the management was not very pleasant and could have definitely handled it far better than she did. She ended up letting us stay to finish our meal and we were all out of the door by 7:15pm. It was such a horrible experience and we couldn't even enjoy our food because of how annoyed we were feeling. If she was going to allow us to dine-in, then why make a big deal? Just simply tell us the policy in a friendly manner and that we need to leave after we finish our meal?! It their mistake to let us sit and order food - If had known we could have gone elsewhere. The most ironic part of it all was, there is a big sign outside saying 'families are welcomed' Ha. Clearly not. Such a shame they were so rude as there aren't any pubs in the area, especially an Irish pub. I've been other Whelan pubs many times and they are always so so friendly.

Wow what a pub! It's a big pub with fabulous bar service, we went on Paddy's day and it was packed when we arrived at 5.30 and left at 7pm.Very good service, bar staff were super efficient. Live music and Irish dancing most of which I missed as was sat outside mostly but amazing atmosphere and tunes. The garden is lovely, looks very swanky, lovely booths, TVs, nice comforatable seating clearly a lot of thought has gone into the design of the space. Really liked this pub. I'm not a local but felt totally welcome and comfortable.

Great atmosphere and a nice clean tidy pub. Outside area is beautiful with heaters dotted round and lots of seating booths. Parking out back makes its very Accessible even if you are being a taxi service to drop you off. Security on the door are friendly and always nice and chatty. Highly recommended if you are in need of a good nice with food drink at a great prices and a lovely atmosphere
