The food is great, fresh, but the customer service is not very welcoming. For central London the pricing is a big plus there. Be prepared - there is a massive menu with plenty of choices, but you have to make a quick decision. At some point we were asked to leave and that we have to do it in 30 minutes. Booking a table is a must if you don't want to wait outside in a queue.

Absolutely top place to visit. It is quite tiny, but that is part of the charm (though maybe try to pick a time when it's not rammed!) We accidentally took more people than we'd booked for and despite it being a squeeze, the staff were absolutely fantastic about fitting us in and getting us all served. Waiting time wasn't too bad, menu is HUGE (so many amazing things!) - prices were great, really good value. Portion sizes were very generous, too. This place is the best, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Treat yourself and give them a go!

I've visited this restaurant and its other branches in the city many times for the past 10 years at least and I can say they probably serve the most authentic Japanese food here in London! There are likely other places that are equally or more authentic but the prices can be ridiculously high, while Eat Tokyo offers good portions at reasonable prices without sacrificing any quality - what you get really is similar to a standard restaurant in Japan (after I've visited Tokyo, I've realised the Japanese really do have high standards). And unlike other places in London where the menu is very limited or it has a very generic set of dishes, there's a very wide variety to choose from here with a lot of unique dishes that are rare and difficult to find elsewhere.

Visited several times now and the food never disappoints. Such a wide selection and all really tasty and reasonable prices, you can’t go wrong.

We have a wonderful time at Eat Tokyo Holborn last week. Food was amazing and sushi was fresh. We had 3 big bottles of sake wine that night and really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend.

Extremely disappointed with the service. Even though the food wasn’t expensive, there was absolutely no excuse for such poor / rude service. As we have made a reservation, we thought we would go in to make ourselves known to the waiting staff after we have queued outside. However, when we walked in we were ignored by the staff for a while before the waitress shouted at us and tell us to wait outside. We then replied politely saying that we have made a reservation before she shouted at us again to “wait outside!”.Way to make us feel welcomed.I have worked as a waiter in the past. Even whenI was under pressure, I would never ever treat customers like that.Honestly, if I could give no stars, I most certainly would.

Good food for good price. Service wasn’t the best so the one star goes for this. Also we went as a Group and they would only let us in when we arrived as a whole. On top of that they kinda pressured us to leave after finishing up with food and drinks.

Crazy gathering in @eattokyolondonHaven’t been in @eattokyolondon since last year. I usually went there with my drinking buddies there. This time we had 7 drinking buddies. We had ordered gyozas (of course😂), Karaage, Yakinori, mussels in sake sauce, lots of maki rolls and a huge boat of sashimi (a live lobster in it😱). Their foods were as good as usual. Every time I ate there I felt like going back to Japan🇯🇵We had totally 4 bottles of sake and lots of Asahi🤦🏽♀️. So full and so drunk. But I still insisted to eat the lobster congee which made with the lobster head in sashimi. It was definitely a comfort food after the drinks. If you wish to eat authentic Japanese food on reasonable price, @eattokyolondon is the right place👍📍 50 Red Lion St, High Holborn, London WC1R 4PFWhat is your comfort food after drinks?Find out more from my Instagram @ccgyozalover🤗

BIG portions of food!! And so many choices! We kind of over ordered to be honest, we did not expect it would be this much! I’d say the taste is yummy and quite authentic, not the best Japanese place in the world but really good for the price. Although I was a bit surprised to have to press my own lemon for my cocktail and pay 50p for mayonnaise for our karage…

I've been to Eat Tokyo many times and I always find it delicious and very good value! Their menu is extensive and overwhelming but you can find most foods to satisfy your Japanese food cravings...but like us, you may end up ordering too much food if too many things catch your eye.I will definitely be returning again.
