Hansom Lounge in Camden

Pleasant staff but food looks aesthetic but is undercooked and without flavour. Overpriced for the food. Bar is attractive but not worth eating at.

Booked a couple of weeks ago for Valentines afternoon vegan tea. Clearly 2 weeks isn’t enough prep time because they hadn't anything vegan. Clearly Valentines didn’t mean anything either… not even a flower in the place which resembled an airport lounge with staff just wandering around doing nothing. When sandwiches finally arrived (45 mins later) they were awful… no filling, stale bread and £46 for no more than 2 slices of bread is just taking liberties. The few cakes were reasonable but the minuscule scones were dreadful; stale like the coconut cream and no jam provided.To add insult to injury they added on £14 service charge. Not worth the 1 star. This place is all hype and no substance…avoid

Really comfortable place to have a drink after a train journey. Lovely cocktail and very professional staff.

Only three stars as service was a bit hit and miss...we had to ask twice on a number of occasions. But the setting is beautiful and the vibe is very cool...

We enjoyed excellent service and the food was very delicious. I arrived with a Buyagift voucher and received everything expected and more. Stephanie served us and she was very attentive and polite. We were allowed to choose from the full range of teas on the menu and could try as many as we liked! We received a bottle of Champagne 🍾 and a delicious afternoon tea selection. I would 💯 recommend.

A lovely environment. I had a wonderful evening even though the service was ropey and paying for drinks that were never served. But apart from that worth a visit just to admire the space.

It may be good if you manage to get them to pick up the phone or respond to emails… purchased afternoon tea for two at the Hansard; they never picked up the phone even if I tried the main reception and the restaurant, plenty of times throughout the day.

Afternoon tea at the Hansom was wonderful. A whole vegan menu was wonderful and felt as good as or better than the usual menu - it is really rare to not feel like an afterthought! The service from Evelyn was amazing - so attentive and kind and thoughtful. The food was great - 6 varieties of sandwich, 5 little cakes and then scones - and as much tea from the amazing tea menu as you wanted. Would really recommend!

On the photo you can see "finger sandwiches" for £10 (basically three mini sandwiches that are 20% the size of a normal sandwich) and "breakfast tea", which we ordered to meet the £14 "minimum spend". Although the building looks nice, to justify these high prices you would need to offer excellent customer service, which is unfortunately not the case. With our party of four we placed various orders, including different types of coffee, and about half of them did not arrive and had be re-ordered; this didn't happen once, but multiple times during a timeframe of two and a half hours. When enquiring about sandwiches, we were given different information about the availability, about four times. When they arrived, it was a bit of a disappointment (see photo). There seems to be plenty of staff, but no functional system of taking and processing orders, as you would expect in such establishment.
