Been to Mario's a few times recently and every time has been fun. Relaxed, informal. Whether you want a fry-up, or some home cooked Italian, you will love it. Try the spicy sausage pasta, or the aubergine, and his bolognese is delicious. Local artists often have exhibit their work, always worth thaking a look.Previously, June 2021... Mario has returned Wed to Saturday. Very friendly and happy service. Very popular with locals. Breakfast goes all day, and there are a few specials. Mario's pasta and sauces are all home made. He, and his family have been here since the 1950's so have stood the test of time. Small, intimate, friendly, and cozy.

Amazing value. Good location. The owner is a sweet person. Great variety of food. The only "downside" is that the place is not so big, so get there soon and save your seat. Other than that, it's always a treat to be there.

Mario's Cafe is very welcoming neighborhood institution. It's a magnet for people who have lived in the area for years, and many customers seem to know each other, and easily strike up conversations. The food is your usual fried English breakfast or beans on toast, but rather than an overloaded plate with more calories than anyone should eat for breakfast, the portions are sensible.

Superb cafe, located on a side street between Camden and Kentish town.Great place for breakfast or lunch, tasty food and good portions. Mix of British and Italian dishes.Has some interesting art on the walls.St Etienne wrote a song about it!

Mario's Cafe is an institution. The food is excellent, a mix of British breakfast and Italian staples. The ingredients are good quality and the dishes well made.Mario himself is the best thing about the place, a friendly, helpful, cheery man who goes out of his way to accommodate everyone who comes through the door. Do you want any extras with your meal? No problem! It's as if you are a guest in his home. There are regular customers, unsurprising given the atmosphere, and around breakfast/brunch time it can get fairly busy. If you manage to get in though it is absolutely worth it. Places like this make a mockery of the "unfriendly London" stereotypes.
