Had an awful experience dining there with a few colleagues. I have had ordered chicken chow mein and they brought me the veg chow mein. I did not say anything but the problem was that it did not look like anything close to chow mein. I couldn’t have it at all. They gave me a plate of fried chicken instead but that too was not good.Although there are Indian working there but the quality of Indian street foods are far better than one can experience here.

The Chana masala was super bland. I’ve been vegan for six years. so it’s safe to say that I’ve had to dish every place I’ve ever gone. With London being one of the best places to get Indian food I was quite surprised how bland it was.

Can't understand the negative reviews. I use to eat here in the 1970s before moving away from London. Re-visited a couple of years ago (the same owner was there!) and it has hardly changed. This is good. Food is always excellent, the portions may be on the small side but the taste is lovely and the staff friendly. Very convenient location in Bloomsbury if you are staying in one of the hotels on the Euston Road or just waiting to catch a train.

A friend and I wanted to eat at a restaurant that was within walking distance to our hotel . We were wondering around the streets undecided about what kind of food we wanted. My friend was leaning towards Indian and I was betwixt and between when we came across Motijheel. We entered with some trepidation as we knew nothing about it. And were we glad we did! The staff was welcoming and gracious and the food fresh and delicious. We could not have been more delighted. The prices were reasonable and an added pleasure was that were white tablecloths and napkins! Highly recommend it!

Website was wrong! Called a different restaurant halfway across England! Came in expecting my food to be done but nevertheless I quickly realized my mistake. Anyways, they were very accommodating and took my order quickly. Great food, great staff!

Our experience wasn't that great. Food is quite average and in the end the guy asked for a service fee. There isn't anything written down in the menu about a service fee and to be honest, the service wasn't good as well. We don't go there anymore. I feel a bit scammed.

Went here with a friend. Food wasn't terrible but could have been better. Chicken was dry and it felt like the lamb vindaloo was more spiciness than flavor. The water glass they served me hadn't been washed thoroughly (but thankfully the beer glass was clean). My meal was cheap, friend's meal not so much - so it felt like he got the short end of the stick. Waiter was standing at the other end of the restaurant looking at us half the time too which I'll admit was somewhat unnerving. They also wouldn't take card payment, which is fine, but they weren't the politest in telling us so. If you're in Bloomsbury and reeeeeeeeally want Indian food, MAYBE try this place. Otherwise, go somewhere else.

We had the fixed price lunch (about £7 vegetarian and £9 meat) which was very good value. Food was very enjoyable and the staff helpful. We were tourists in London and chose a very good window seat so could watch the world go by. Located in a pleasant part of Bloomsbury.

Don't knock it. Friendly and good value. I've been eating here since I was a student living in a bedsit in Tavistock Place over 30 years ago and I still love the place. Sure, it's not top of the range and hasn't changed that much to follow trends, but the food is good, tables are clean and there's no rush...Give it a go if you're in the area and ignore the negative reviews. I love it! You can even ask for food not on the menu (to a degree) as I for one love a phall - and it's good, and of course damned hot. As it should be.

i just order a meat (supoosed to lamb) curry with rice lunchtime box takeaway. What i got was about 2/10ths chicken and the rest of the box a mammoth of rice. Disspointed in the lack of curry and so much rice. Will not be going again . Food quality average. Dissapointed in my lunch and sick off people trying to rip off customers
