Oriental Star in Camden

I used to go here quite often as I found the food tasty and cheap. Unfortunately the last time I ate there, I got extreme food poisoning and had to be hospitalised. So to the people complaining that the meat is overcooked, you should probably be happy that it is!

Local Chinese near me and thought I would give it a try. I’m glad I did as the value for money was shocking - the food was delicious, big portions and unbelievably affordable. The service was very quick. The place is a good size and has plenty of seats if you wanted to dine in. I ordered mine for takeout and was still piping hot when I arrived home. The noodles (chicken chow mein and beef chow mein) were cooked to perfection and the meats were tender and well-seasoned.Will definitely return!

Very nice restaurant where to have a fantastic Chinese lunch. The portions are generous and well prepared; the staff is really gentle and the place absolutely clean. Well done, great job... I'll be back soon.

I GOT FOOD POISONING FROM HERE! DO NOT ORDER. Likely from roast duck which was mushy instead of crispy and smelt funny. Spent 48 hours throwing up non stop. Avoid avoid avoid!

My favourite local chinese take away. I order from here regularly, never been disappointed. Lovely sweet and sour soup, my regular meal is egg fried rice with roast duck and chinese leaves. Delicious. Chicken dumplings are also lovely and so is the sweet and sour.

Great portions with good price! Giant Spring Rolls was delicious followed by Singaporean noodles. Very lovely lady at the counter with a great smile. I'll be back next time when I'm in Finchley.

Sad to leave a poor review because the lady at the counter was nice enough.. but the food was atrocious. Had the £6.50 roast duck/pork set which comes with a plate of spring roll and seaweed. It was the saddest meal I've ever had. Roast pork deep fried to death and barely edible duck; likely the prepackaged, frozen kind. Wouldn't recommend even for that price.

Phenomenal food! Roast duck and pork rice for ~£6 which is insane, so yum, lots of meat, overall just outstanding value. Free prawn crackers as well. (Apologies for the half eaten food but I promise the box was packed with heaps of food when I took it out!)

Really tasty shredded duck rice, whenever I come here I always order this! It is conveniently located right opposite the O2 centre, so if you want to have something before the cinema it is one of the places to be. The price to quality ratio is pretty decent. The staff are friendly, welcoming and nice. The store could do with a refurbishment, but other than that nothing else.
