We booked at joint 40th here and Cheryl and her team were nothing short of fantastic, it’s a great place for a party of pretty much any size up to 120.The drinks, catering and communication were spot and it was far cheaper in terms of minimum spend than smaller, worse looking places.

Great place for a quick pint and some food. Loved the atmosphere here.

I held my wife’s surprise party at The Blue Lion I couldn’t have asked for a more fantastic venue. It was great being able to have to whole pub to ourselves. Cheryl and her team were amazing both in helping in the run up to the party and on the night. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing and all our guests commented on how good it was. The staff on the night were friendly and professionally and really helped the party to go smoothly. The Blue Lion is a great venue with brilliant staff making it a great place to hold a party.

The venue is great and really central. From start to finish organising my 30th party here was a breeze, staff were responsive and friendly. Really accommodating and helped to make the eve a truly special occasion.

We hired the Blue Lion for a birthday party and we couldn't have been happier - Cheryl was very communicative in the lead up to the event, the space was great and the staff on the night were incredibly friendly and accomodating. Good weekday pub, seemingly mostly orientated to the (mostly white collar) workers in the Grays Inn Road area. Accordingly it is closed at weekends! Do-it-all venue for a lunchtime pint or a sit down evening meal, or taking your colleagues out for a few rounds, or a discreet meeting drink and anything in between. Prices are about what you'd expect for central London. Have been an occasional user for a number of years as our office is opposite and haven't had cause to fault them - the whole show seems to be run with care and attention to detail. Bring the kitchen back soon!

Private Hire - Me and my wife booked the entire venue on a Sunday to celebrate our wedding and we had the best time ever!!! The bar staff looked after us throughout the night and ensured we had a great time. The food was gorgeous and plenty and the drinks were reasonably priced and varied! We brought in our own DJ, chocolate fountain, sweets and other props. Our aim was to make sure our guests had a night to remember and they truly did! I cannot praise this venue enough for making our night so special. Thank you so much! :)

A GREAT place for a WEDDING RECEPTION at the right price!!! We had our wedding reception at The Blue Lion last Saturday. We loved the place and, most importantly, all our guests were very happy. Staff were helpful, the service was great, they let us decorate the place as we wanted, the final result was well over our expectations. All food we ordered was amazing, especially the pork pies, the sausages and the black rice salad. Even our Italian guests loved the selection of Italian salamis and cheeses and the pesto pasta salad. Everyone was happy with the drink selections. Cheryl and Maria offer an excellent Wedding Service at a price which is very competitive for London. If we decide to have a reaffirmation party in the next years we will no doubt go back to the Blue Lion. THANK YOU Maria and Cheryl for all you have done for us. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

A local favourite. You can find people after a hard day's work enjoying a pint, and a game of pool. The Blue Lion is the place you go to to unwind, relax, and catch up with friends.

Could not fault the workers who served at our engagement party back in 2016. Everything was outstanding until the food came out at the event.We felt welcomed at the venue when we went to view, the owner was great and we could decorate how we liked and use our own DJ.What ruined it for us was when we had paid £250 for the food, which you could have got for £50 max from your local shop. To say we were disappointed would have been an understatement and to have 100+ close family and friends (we both have big families) keep complaining that they are hungry throughout a big event in your life is unsettling.Even for nibbles it was very little and our guests were not expecting meals and I was not expecting meals for this, but at least a little nibble each. However, I was expecting £200 worth of food not meals but food that was the money I had paid and there clearly was not. I understand that profits have to be made but not on that scale. Unfortunately false information was then brought up when trying to sort everything out.When discussing this with the owner, it was dealt with unprofessionally. The owner cannot take constructive criticism or admit when wrong.I have uploaded the pictures of the food, which were taken 2 mins after the food had come out, as you can see people rushed to get food and look at how little there was and all for £250!
