Delicious South Asian food and all vegan. Everything we ate was good but I would recommend the Dosas - lentil pancakes. The staff are knowledgeable about the ingredients and helpful if you have allergies. Closes in the afternoon from 3pm to 6pm, which is a shame, and parking in Hampstead is a very difficult without a permit.

Nice decor and friendly service. The food was not great which was surprising as it did take a long time to come. I only enjoyed the Grilled mushrooms which was exceptionally good, great taste and cooked well, the peppers were a lovely addition. Otherwise everything else was poor. The Paneer tikka masala had an awful spice that did not make it taste nice. It was mainly sauce with 6 extremely small cubes of paneer. The peshwari naan was probably the worst I've had, hardly any filling on flavouring it might as well have been a butter naan.

I went specifically hoping for a good masala dosa. I was disappointed. The dosa itself was bland, and the filling (which is supposed to be spicy potato) tasted like boiled potatoes with no seasoning or flavour. The dal makhani was good, as was the garlic naan (which was more like a paratha). There is lots of choice for vegetarians but I really do not recommend the dosa, which is such a shame. The staff were friendly and the service was good. But we were the only people in the whole restaurant!

Restaurant completely empty on a Saturday evening. Waiters stare at you whilst you east food, uncomfortable atmosphere. Expensive for portion size but food was above average and tasted fresh. Recommend the dosas, medu Vada - the curries and chaats not great. Decor simple but elegant. Very Average experience.

We had dinner at Woodlands last week. Whilst they have not spared on oil, they appear to have forgetten what it takes to make tasty Indian vegetarian food. A few of the dishes, namely dosa and vada, were completely tasteless and very different from what they should taste like. Disappointing experience and I am not likely to return.

Over priced dessert (small portions) and soft drink (only 200ml) which came with no ice, no paper towels in toilet and hand dryer didn’t work, mediocre service - felt we were being rushed, main meal ok, but then the bill came with TWO service charges that needed correcting! Very disappointing.

Newly refurbished inside and out, new menu and new manager!! Fantastic authentic food, in this Hampstead local. Lovely changes, we have been visiting for years and found it has improved even more now. Lots of vegan, gluten free and Jain choice. Wonderful selection of organic, vegetarian wines.

Dissapointing quality of food... My curry reheated in microwave!!! Very dirty kitchen, staff not really helpful. Never again! Shame there cooking in microwave. There's so much better and cheaper vegetarian places in London.

Vegetarian Indian Restaurant. Slightly tatty and in-need-of-a-little-management-love inside and out. It's in an awkward position close by The Heath, with no offices nearby and little local trade (the locals are all in The Seychelles most of the time). So, very often it's barely occupied at all, but there are usually at least two deliveroo bikers perma-parked outside in the evening, so it must have a healthy take-away trade. Or is that for the burger place next door? The menu looks bigger than the Treaty of Versailles, which always suggests that the kitchen is either to ambitious or just serving the same ingredients with slightly different sauces.I had the impression that many of the dishes were just overloaded variants of cream + ghee + spice. The staff are quietly spoken, pleasant and unobtrusive - without the usual corollary of being also difficult to get when you want them. I wish it more success.

Have been to the other two branches in London many times, and the food of a similar standard here - very good. I struggle to believe the negative reviews - I've never had a bad meal at any branch of Woodlands, and can't really understand how anyone could come here and not enjoy it, unless they either fundamentally didn't like Indian food, or had a very blinkered sense of what it should be and weren't prepared to be open minded enough to have a meal without meat.I think the Woodlands restaurants display some of the most intelligent use of spices of any Indian restaurant I've been to, and as a vegetarian the variety on offer is a delight. The South Indian dosas are also an interesting addition to more familiar Indian dishes found elsewhere in the UK.It was a bit dead on the Sunday lunchtime when we visited but that suited us just fine.
