I would say that Akash is just below average in terms of food, service, ambience, etc. hence the 2* review. A warning to anyone who does go, however: do not make the mistake of ordering any vegetarian side dishes as mains - they simply double the price (while serving a slightly increased portion). My wife had a Tarka Daal which cost £10 (!) while I had a Saag Paneer which cost £11! This was more than some of our friends’ meat dishes! To give readers some perspective, a Chicken Tikka Masala is £10 while a Chicken Korma is £9. I did question this when we received our bill but was fobbed off with talk of cheese costs, a pretty poor excuse considering my dish only had about 5 small pieces of paneer in anyway. I don’t know how he’d have explained away the £10 charge for my wife’s lentil-based dish. Very naughty of Akash but perhaps it was also our own fault for not asking what the price would be when the waiter suggested we make our side dishes mains. We would obviously have been better off ordering 4 vegetarian side dishes for the same price (!) so please any future visitors take note.

Great food, you won’t be disappointed. I’m local and have been going and/or ordering from Akash for the last 10 years. I know for a fact they cook all their dishes from scratch (unlike many others). Ignore the bad reviews, I’ve been to many Indian restaurants in my life and this one is definitely top notch. A local jewel for sure!

Fabulous meal with friendly service. I had the Chicken Makhani which had been made with chicken pieces off the bone rather than the reconstituted cubes you get in a lot of places. Sauce was nicely spiced and just the right amount of heat... would go again...

those on the plate.Peshawari Nan...with sultanas nuts and filled with coconut sounds great, but in reality a paste is simply brushed onto the bread. A cheap fix. I did tackle the waiter on this, but he just shouted me down!! In addition, he tried to mug me off by telling me the sultanas were ground up in the paste!!I noticed the party opposite me raised an issue in which they stated they were a pilau rice missing, this resulted in a load of shouting and the 2 waiters ended up shouting at each other!!Lovely setting, food prepared in a rush though.

Serves Indian food۔ We ordered a selection of starters and chips for a family of 5۔ Food was average/bland، nothing special، the portions were tiny for the prices charged۔ Service charge added on top of already expensive food۔ I would not recommend this place as a good curry house and I have been to many including in Bradford & Manchester۔

The food served at Akash was exquisite! The restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday evening but the staff still fit me in. The food was mouth watering, and the staff were really friendly.Ordered-Tandoori King PrawnMixed PlatterChicken ManchurianNaan

Been meaning to visit this restaurant as it a walking distance from my flat, and Pakistani/ Indian food is my traditional and favourite food. I don’t normally leave reviews, but compelled to do so by the poor experience that I had, and confused by the otherwise good ratings that it has, The food overall was bland and tasteless, and the vegetable dishes that I ordered used generic cooking sauces, with one order overcooked and burnt. Compared to the vibrant cooking and flavours found in restaurants in areas that have a larger Indian/Pakistani community ( eg Tooting) who know their traditional food, this restaurant was a poor imitation. On my score card, 3/10 would be generous.

Great food and fantastic service. Mo was super helpful arranging us a table given the current restrictions and made us feel very welcome. The mixed grill was amazing, I spoke with the chef briefly to tell him how pleased we were! Would 100% recommend.

Incredibly disappointed with our experience. A 1hr10min wait for a takeaway, which was inedible at best.We ordered online at 7.30pm and after an hour, called to check in on when we could expect our food. They didn’t even check the order number and said 10 minutes. We called 20 minutes later and they finally checked our order number and said maybe another 10 minutes. Before we had even put the phone down the order arrived. They clearly had no idea where our order was or that it had even left the restaurant! The curries were inedible and there were 2 items missing. Both curries were drowning in oil, they were tasteless and missing most of the ingredients - a thoroughly unpleasant experience - 1/10 (the 1 is for the poppadoms which were the only edible part of the meal). Will not be ordering from here again.

One of the best Baltis in London add the King Cobra for a very special meal, next time a smaller glass than a pint is required for sipping enjoyment.
