Assa in City of London

Super nice food. Second time coming back here! Really nice and fast service. Staffs are helpful and nice. Mouthwatering food, loved the pancakes and especially the Korean hot pot! Posting a photo of the food and photos of the menu. I found it difficult to find the full menu online so posting it here to help everyone out 👌

I have been coming to this place several times now as you can see from the photos attached. Food was ok and price is reasonable. The location is good, not in the super busy area.I really liked the Korean Fried Chicken with sweet chilli sauce, it even came with some tteok which was amazing!The only one time they let me down was when I went in for lunch and ordered from the lunch set menu for the first time. I ordered the Soon-du-bu ramyeon, thinking that it is just like normal Soon-du-bu ji gae but instead of rice its ramyeon noodle. However, it came out as just like ramyeon you can make yourself at home with a bit of tofu and spring onion added in, with no meat at all. That was like £8.xx. Very disappointing so next time I go in for lunch i will not get anything on the lunch set menu again.

Came as a group of 7. The chicken and beef are halal here so we ordered a variety of dishes. Every dish was amazing. Honestly one of the best Korean restaurant I have been to in terms of quality of food and flavour.The restaurant doesn't allow bookings so you will have to walk in, if you are going as a group, I would suggest picking a time during off peak hours otherwise you will find yourself lining up outside because it is very busy.Regarding staff they were very polite, I do feel there was some mistakes done which could have been better but overall it was ok.Pricing wise the restaurant was reasonable.Would I go here again, yes I will and try out some of the other dishes.

Nice but not amazing, and not particularly cheap for what you get.If you dine alone (no hotpots: they serve min. 2), it’s box standard rice / noodle dishes, or several larger starters / dishes, making it a bit too much and an expensive meal for really simple cooking.Service is all about turn over; don’t expect much. Had to really fight to get someone’s advice on what to order which might be more interesting. The lighting for the whole room is white LED strips - so don’t go there for the mood either.

We went here for valentines day lunch and place was packed and we had to wait outside for nearly 20mins before getting seated. We ordered some of our favourites from here and the food has never failed me. I love going to Assa but the only downfall is the seating inside is way too cramped.You can't sit comfortably and enjoy your meal. Service was not great I believe the rush hour got to them.Definitely will be visiting again.🤪

Probably our favourite Korean restaurant in London. The dishes were outstanding and great value of money. Highly recommended!

To takeaway, you have to order physically at the restaurant. I got 된장찌개 (soybean paste stew) with a side of kimchi. I only waited for about 10-15mins, and looking inside the restaurant it seemed very cute! The staff were very nice. Food was good and fair in price. Would love to come back to try the dine in experience.

The Korean hot-pot here is outstanding and clearly what the restaurant is known for and does best, it's certainly the best Korean hot-pot I have had in London. Big portion (more than enough for 2 people) and great value for money. We also ordered some extra banchan and the spring onion pancake which were all great. We had to queue to get in but it's obvious why so many people are willing to do so!

Very well located between Chinatown and Soho. No reservations possible, you can only walk in.It is super cozy in there. Staff speaks Korean fluently which makes the experience very 'local'.Hotpots portions size are huge, great for 2 people or even 3.Next time I will come back for the A La Carte menu :)

I love Assa, so many choices, good for coming with friends, always full up every visit. We had pork belly in spicy sauce, the pork belly was a little tough but still nice, the hotpot never seems to disappoint as well as if you're running low, then staff would refill your soup. Lots of additions to the hotpot if needed, staff are friendly and busy restaurant. Best to book in advance to avoid longer queue times :)
