Birley Sandwiches in City of London
Where is Birley Sandwiches?
🏠 Paternoster Sq., London EC4M 7BP
Paternoster Square is an urban development, owned by the Mitsubishi Estate Co., next to St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London. The area, which takes its name from Paternoster Row, once centre of the London publishing trade, was devastated by aerial bombardment in The Blitz during the Second World War.

Burnt coffee, snappy unwelcoming staff especially the head staff was rude to me swearing on the job. Place is a dump, on top of that they got my order wrong.

If I could give zero stars I would, this was my first time in this place and hoped to make it my usual as I work minutes away. Not only did they not have oat milk which is much more common and versatile option than their almond milk option. But guess what, they even burned the milk to the point the flat white was undrinkable! Not only do the baristas need retraining on how to make a basic coffee but their staff need to know what customer service is to start peoples mornings. Do not go here.

What a joke, overly prices and Snappy Staff. the whole place is chaotic. unorganised. it was my 1st time trying this place and from ordering to paying it was a disaster and I paid £9 for the privilege. They forgot my order, they made me wait and when I brought this to their attention they lady had so much attitude. this place messed up my Thursday morning.

lovely breakfast sarnie but would prefer it with more than 1 sausage! recommend asking for extra sausage if planning on having any in your sandwich

Great lunch option in the city. There is a good variety of fillings available. The place tends to get very crowded during lunch time and it is hard to differentiate the queues for salads, soup and sandwiches. The ingridients are very fresh but the salads generally cost upwards of 7/8 quid (depends on the filings but this works out to be the average). More expensive than other take out salad options in the city but the quality makes it worth while. Wouldn't want to sit down for a meal here especially during lunchtime as the place gets very cramped.

The layout is fine and atmospheric but it needs more seating to derive an atmosphere. I imagine it's a bit chaotic at lunch time as breakfast was a little all over the place. Loved what it looked like.

How is this place surviving you ask? Well they will sell you a premade half empty sandwich for 7 pounds. Soooooo slooooooowwwww amazing when there are 6 staff working. Repeat customers I doubt they have had one

Went in on the morning of Friday 31 August was told there was a 10 minute wait for bacon sandwiches, which was fine - 25 minutes later asked if it would be coming - was treated with absolute distain and like i'd personally insulted the member of staff by even daring to ask for an update. Was then told it was still in the queue and they hadn't started cooking it. Asked for a refund as the fact it has taken 25 minutes was going to make me late for work and again i was treated like a criminal. This isnt the first bad experience here, I know its busy but the entire organisation of this branch is a joke and the rudeness of the staff is incredible. Didn't make any attempt to appease me, despite the fact the service was ridiculous.I cant believe I am writing a review about trying to buy a bacon sandwich, but this is how bad this place is. Never go there.

It’s food looks great but I just wanted a flat white. Equal worst coffee I have tasted in London and I’ve tasted some awful ones. Try a carbonated drink instead like I should have!

Went in and asked for a sausage and bacon roll. Was told that they weren't doing them because it was after 10.30 and so their "breakfast" menu was no longer available. This is a sandwich shop, not a restaurant.I didn't want it for "breakfast". I just wanted to eat a sausage and bacon roll
