Bow Wine Vaults Bar - Bistro - Restaurant in City of London

I have been going to the Bow Wine Vaults for many years , as it is somewhere in the heart of the City of London to meet clients and friends. .

I was only there an hour but very mice

Just like it was before. So nice to have all the familiar staff serving us! Love it

First time back after lockdown and just as welcoming as ever. Turned out to be first day back with an unadvertised, low key return. No food on offer yet but the usual warm welcome and remembering wine preferences after six months absence (and we're only occasional visitors - once every couple of months)! Look forward to seeing customers returning - it's a great place!

Always fantastic service from the brilliant staff, been coming here for 25 years now and never had a bad meal or poor service. It's a city institution God bless it ! 5/5

A splendid, vibrant and traditional street level wine bar cum brasserie, located directly behind Bow church on the corner of Bow Lane. It has a very competitively priced wine list and an acceptable choice of beers on tap. There is also a restaurant situated in the basement.

1 star because the barman would not allow internal photos. He said that people would not want to be in photos and I didn't have their permission. Very strange.

Food is good, nice variety too. Great wine list and the House White is surprisingly lovely! When busy the service takes a bit longer, as expected, but this is a fine example of good eating and wining in London!

Went here for my office Christmas lunch, the place if situated in Bow Lane and is always busy in there so had high expectations! But overall it was a disappointment. The starter dishes were massive, I had the terrine of Foie Gras with white fig chutney & toasted brioche, it was very bland, my main courses were Roast Free Range Norfolk Turkey & all the trimmings, the turkey was soft and juicy but that Brussel sprouts and the carrots were underdone and the gravy was tasty, for dessert I had the Mocha Cheesecake with double cream, this was not pleasant and could not eat more than bites of it, it tasted “off”. We had a good selection of wine, and the staff where very friendly. Personally I would not recommend this restaurant.

Arrived at 12 on a Friday for lunch. Was seated in the restaurant downstairs. Service was good, food was good. Price was around 30pp for three courses. Bit quiet initially but picked up around 1.
