Cock & Lion in City of London

I made a provisional booking to hire the room upstairs in the daytime ... made the booking face to face and took a menu away and watched the manager write the booking in the diary. The manager was meant to call me in January but she didn't and when I tried calling them, the phone number wasn't recognised. So I went back to show my family and to confirm the provisional booking in Feb face to face since phone wasn't an option and the manager couldn't have been more rude. She had no recollection of the booking, didn't even offer to go get the calendar, and basically pushed us out the door as my daughter was with me and yes it's a child-free pub but this should have been mentioned to me when making a daytime booking as she would have been at the final event and I had no idea. Also no need to be so rude, just politely say something and i'd have understood and left. I sound like an old moany reviewer but honestly shocked by the rudeness

Bar snack available with ideal bud tasting real ale. Resturant on first floor with male amd female toilets on ground floor. Atmosheric decor.

New manager has turned this pub around.Clean, well organised , great food and speedy service .Have seen some changes in management but the new chap seems to really know how to make it work. Lovely to see a team who care and are able to chat as well as serve. Great to see a lot of the dead wood has been pruned back

Popped in for a soft drink. Loved the tables but the staff could have been a little friendlier.

Nice little pub in a good central location. There is seating upstairs and downstairs with screens showing sport in the latter.Good range of drinks and a pleasant atmosphere

The atmosphere is breathing Genuine English pub at it's best as a great hideaway from the rush on oxford street. Great service, food and beer. I had my 6 year old daughter with me which was no problem at all. This is a place that takes a piece of your heart which tells you to go back next time you visit London.

This is a great, small traditional pub! Tucked away from the hustle & bustle of Oxford Street and much cheaper than Marylebone prices.A single room with a few cosy alcoves. Full of photographs of “London Life & Edwardian England”.Traditional pub food is well-priced and looks good. Decent selection of real ales are well kept.Friendly staff offer a warm welcome to regulars and visitors alike. Avoid “plastic” pubs and support traditional pubs like this!
