Corney & Barrow - Old Broad Street in City of London

First of all it is very very cold inside, I had to wear my coat.I was disappointed that for such a big reservation - 20 people, there was literally no one around so you can ask for things.The drinks came after 40 mins, mostly bottles of wine and water, didn't understand why it took so long.Starters after 55 mins, people were already starving as this was a lunch break.The mains came after 1 hour and 30 minutes (bear in mind that there were people that didn't have starters) after all this time, they were almost crying.I had high hopes when I entered the restaurant, but I was very disappointed and unimpressed in the end. I will not go again.

Booked Xmas reservation was overlooked and we had to wait until our table (that for some reason was given to somebody else) became available. Service was good and friendly but perhaps too slow as they needed to improvise to accommodate our temporary location.We didn’t order anything special, just burgers and fish&chips but the chips were terrible… nice location and friendly staff but…

Xmas dinner here. Took over two hours before they brought out our mains. We arrived for lunch at 2.30 and got served at dinner time. Portions were tiny - i got the cod and it was two mouthfuls. Left the restaurant after a 3 course meal hungry... that's a new one. Would avoid!

Perfectly decent wine bar, not much character but ok wine selection. Good for an after work drink.

Lovely venue with a great evening vibe. We were served just before the kitchen closed so the food came out quickly and was amazing quality. The waiter, Carlos, had a nice and welcoming attitude and was very attentive throughout the evening. I would definitely recommend this for cocktails with friends or as a cute date night idea. 10/10 for sure!!!

Had the most wonderful dinner here, made even better by the lovely waitress Kascia who was so attentive/smiley and a bright bubbly energy throughout the entire evening. Interesting presentation of the bill with old antique books too, a cool addition from the owner. It's the little things! Plus the minute steak was delicious.

Good value pub grub in the city. Slightly slow service as they were understaffed, but the servers polite and friendly attitude more than made up for the wait.

I love The Otherist and I have been coming for years.Always a good time and staff are fantastic.Food is delicious.A little pricey however it’s to be expected from this location.I once had my birthday here and we had a fantastic time.I’ll always return.Many thanks.

Good place for after work drinks. Booking ahead is a good idea as they will give you a table and table service which avoids the bar area. Nice outdoor space for smoking and chatting out the back and airy environment inside. Nice cocktail list but no happy hour offers, we had the sliders which were really tasty at 2.50 each. Overall nice food and drinks in the city after work.

Used The Otherist on an exclusive basis for a networking event and would highly recommend. The vibe at the venue is lovely, the food is delicious (bite-size food and mini bowls are perfect for networking events), and the staff are friendly, professional and go beyond for their customers.
