(Translated by Google) First afternoon tea I've tried. Brilliant local but not overwhelming food. Good scones and sandwiches but very much sweet. Quite cheap compared to many others. Atmosphere is weird. Staff seems uninterested (not rude, just not engaged). Food was ... food. You can eat it. I was surprised that restaurants like this still function in central London. There are hundreds of other spots to eat a walk away. My advice is choose one of those.

Went on a Groupon deal that was excellent value. Probably wouldn't go there at full prices though.

We were looked after by the wonderful Pascale for the evening in the restaurant that is housed in the old courtroom. We ate some delicious food and drank good wine. The bar area is a beautiful space and very beautifully decorated and we couldn't help but go in there following dinner. We sat at the bar and Gabriel took care of us.We will be back with friends in tow. Thanks for helping us have a super evening.

1 star dinner at a 5 star hotelSo..where do I start? I should probably also leave a 1 (or if we push it 2 star) review for their bar called Jailhouse but I'm too lazy so I'll just add it as a nice intro here instead. We went there for a couple of pre dinner cocktails and to be fair the space itself minus the weird claustrophobic cells is not bad, its going for that expensive look, but sadly the quality does not follow the price here.I dont mind paying £11.50 for a cocktail (which I had to choose from a really badly designed menu printed on some A4 sheets and stuck inside a yellow folder) in Shoreditch if its good. But all 4 cocktails we had looked like murky red/green/*insert any colour* water and tasted either of the mixer (e.g. ginger beer only) or were very sweet/sour etc. I once made a cocktail at silly o'clock in the morning in my kitchen by mixing whatever alcohol and mixers I had (I have some bar experience) and Im 100% sure it tasted a lot better than that. But then there was dinner time at the Judge & Jury (why did a beautiful 5 star hotel chose tacky prison theme for their bar and restaurant is a question for another day)...We walked into the 1st room of the restaurant (very bright, completely empty and smelling very strongly of fish) were greeted by an awkward maitre d and led into a second room which was very dark, still empty (minus one single guest and a couple on a date) and still smelling of fish.An even more awkward / nervous waiter then gave us the menus and brought our water and wine. He then took our order including taking mine then immediately saying that the item I ordered is not actually available and left.Sometime later the food arrived and it did not look like it should be served at a 5 star hotel. My date had a flatbread with halloumi and beetroot and it was literally a plate sized flatbread with some weirdly coloured beetroot and a block of halloumi with some balsamic vinegar to try and save this dry and boring dish (also saying "less is more" would be very relevant here). I had asparagus and poached egg which I can only describe with an addition of chili mayo or something. Not a good start. Then we both got our main course which was cod with lentils and mushrooms (fish and mushrooms? weird and still doesnt work). It looked like it was sitting on the pass in the kitchen for good 5-10 minutes as it was also served to us immediately after our starters were cleared. Fish was bland, overcooked and generally not pleasant and my date described the look of lentils as "dog food". Lentils also tasted of nothing, just a grey mass of boring and mushrooms were actually sort of dried which was even weirder. We left most of it and then waited good 10-15 minutes for our full plates to be removed, the waiter did not even ask if the food was ok (they must be used to it).We decided not to have dessert which would have been included.A little bit about surroundings: there were reserved signs on two tables, but as we were leaving the waiter was already setting up for breakfast so clearly either those people did not turn up or they tried to make the restaurant look less sad and empty. So I can predict that they had 5 covers that night including us. Fake candles proudly glowed on each table (photo attached). They also had fake little plants scattered around (photo attached). Plus some tacky artwork of celebrities wearing judge wigs. Conclusion - whoever is in charge of running the restaurant and bar in this otherwise beautiful hotel should be fired immediately.

Really very bad. Strongly advise avoiding. Food so slow and room freezing. Few people in the restaurant on a Saturday night. When the food did come it was great.
