Love the decor and the atmosphere. The food was pretty good, unfortunately one of my dishes failed to turn up even after reminding them. It took until dessert for a senior member to come over to apologise.

Enjoyed lunch with girlfriends. Waitress was a lovely young lady very polite and smiley. You only have the table for 2 hours but good value tapas and unlimited prosecco. Once your two hours is up the prosecco stops flowing but we did have our table longer than that. Would visit again. Only real complaint was the acoustics very hard to have a conversation

Very POORLY tasting food; insane noise; average service. They used to make decent food and have a nicer/quieter atmosphere suitable for dinner with your partner or colleague but I guess were unprofitable. Now it's terribly mismatching ingredients and tapas-size concept - to make every item on the menu affordable, I guess.Furthermore, they're now pouring free prosecco in guests glasses every 15mins or so. It certainly worked to make the place very busy but it now attracts a bunch of single girls (looking and sounding like secretaries) and makes the noise levels intolerable as they all just scream over each other. Mental experience and waste of Friday evening for us...

Went there on Saturday. Had a booking for 8.30, arrived on time, and got told the table would be at least fifteen minutes. They were not sorry about it, but rather said that 'fifteen minutes isn't really late anyway', which shows the culture of this place that they are ok with sitting people late. We didn't eventually sit down until 9.45, over an hour after our booking, and had been given one glass of prosecco at the bar as compensation (our deal we had booked was for unlimited prosecco anyway). Food then took another forty five minutes to arrive, and the table next to us, which had sat down after us, got served before us.Food was decent - the only reason that it got 2 stars instead of one. I will not be going again though. Plenty of places in London serve good food - not providing good service is unacceptable.

Swanky place with good lighting and warm ambience. The food is tapas, not very filling. The frittered seafood left the most lasting impression with me.Service was polite and friendly, if somewhat unresponsive at times.

Terribly organised, rude staff. We booked a party in the London restaurant, thinking it would handle our group well as it had great reviews and seemed like a decent place. We were made to wait outside in the cold an hour after our booking, the staff were rude and refused to give us much information. Single bookings were allowed to push past us and go straight in.The restaurant was too small to hold our booked full party, and many of us had to remain outside. There was inadequate seating inside and we were roped off into a tiny area far smaller than our party. This may be a nice place for a 1-4 seating party, but look elsewhere if you want a larger party to be hosted, or to have staff that aren't rude.

A very elegant restaurant with polite informative staff in a fantastic central location. What could possibly be wrong with it,? In a word the food! Utterly mediocre dishes served at premium prices. We had a selection of Italian tapas style dishes from seafood and tuna to endive salad with cheese and veal meatballs. None of it was very nice. Even the cappucino was so far from a decent cup of coffee it defied belief. Tiramisu....in an 'Italian' restaurant, yet again an incredibly bland and flavourless affair. In all honesty I'm a moderately good cook certainly nothing special but I genuinely think I could have done far better with the same lacklustre ingredients than any of their so-called chefs. If I visited again I'd have only a beer or sparkling water as none of the 12 starter type dishes we had were remotely memorable or flavoursome. Myself and two fellow diners were equally underwhelmed and what can only be described considering the price as one of the most disappointing eating experiences of my life. Feb 2015

I didn't particularly enjoy the food. The best part was the dessert. The waitress was quite rude to me when I offered to give her my order in the meantime whilst my friend continued to look. I don't think that I'll be taking another trip here. The stars are purely for the dessert.

Cucina Asellina is in a hotel that feels like it's from the 1990s, but the food and service more than make up for the white leather. The food was delicious, veal meatballs as a starter were incredible, and and the mains were all lovely. The service was absolutely great. There's a deal on a restaurant booking site that also includes a cocktail in the rooftop bar, which I heartily recommend - if only to see how the other half live.

Cucina asellina was good, but not great. It's actually quite reasonable, staff were attentive and the food was fine. Our starter was excellent, the mains were good and our dessert was a little disappointing. Would recommend, but don't set your expectations too high.
