Darwin Brasserie in City of London

The view is amazing, the waiters are very friendly (specially Ivana). The food was amazing and the drinks are delightful. Overall great experience, would highly recommended it.

Lovely views (if you're lucky to be seated with a view) but pretty average brasserie experience from start to finish.Food was bland and underwhelming however the saving grace for us was a good waiter called Xavier.Would not visit here again, but would happily visit the sky garden for drinks.

Came here for a special meal and it didn't disappoint. The food and cocktails were delicious and waiting staff were very attentive. The views over London are fantastic, would have been lovely to have a table at the window rather than in the middle.Only negative is it was quite crowded and therefore noisy but it was a Saturday evening at peak dinner time so that's to be expected.

Wow, what can I say. Came here for a birthday meal and was suitably impressed from start to finish. I found it amusing that I had visited here in the video-game Watch Dogs Legion and recognized everything from that (it was my first time here in the flesh).Great ambience here with the plants, airy room, large staircase and with those large distinctive glass windows a prominent feature. DJ playing nice beats downstairs, with the Darwin restaurant itself trendy and buzzing with guests. Not the place to sit for a quiet meal though as it's very busy as you would expect. The food and staff were fantastic (especially my desert) and my family and I had a great experience here.The views from (the walkie talkie building) are amazing, especially at night. I would certainly come here again and highly recommend it.

Based on reviews we booked for my birthday well in advance. We asked for a table overlooking the skyline and although tables were available when we arrived, we were sat in the middle.We then watched whilst our server proceeded to serve and talk to every other table in her section bar us, also choosing to take drinks and food orders from newly sat tables! We eventually got her attention.The food was average and overpriced. We get it, it's London, it's a tourist attraction but quite frankly it's not worth it. I enjoyed my burger but could of got the same taste for £10 less just down the road. As for the fish, it was below average and extortionate with no sides. Again, prepared to have paid it but expected it to be tasty! Very disappointing.Our server changed part way through and the new lady was very attentive. She did actually bring a little Birthday treat which was a nice touch.All in all, I wouldn't recommend going here. Check out the Sky Garden for free and find a better place to eat.

We've booked ourselves lunch at Darwin Brasserie. The staff is great and friendly. Food is amazing, view is spectacular. Space is super child friendly. I was with my 1 year old daughter and everybody adored her. Only thing it was too hot there.

I love the view that comes with the window table, very lovely at night and the stewards are really nice. The food however, is very average and quite pricey. I would probably come back for the experience but not so much the food.Myself and my wife aren't fans of their dish but the service was our consolation.

We were very unhappy with our experience from last night, a booking from 9:30pm to 11:30pm should ensure a dinner service can be carried throughout that period of time, but nope, 10pm the kitchen closes, so if you’re unhappy with your meal you can’t get a replacement or choose anything else, nor can you order any additional sides after this time, yet they have the capability to provide desserts.My partner didn’t enjoy her main dish and only taken one bite, and was only offered a free desert (since the kitchen was closed) still had to pay for the dish she didn’t enjoy.We also found a lot of the food pretty salty, theres salt and pepper on the table, yet the chips arrived just as salty as a McDonalds portion of chips, how about provide chips with no salt like every other restaurant and let the customers choose if they want salt on their chips, the mushrooms and other parts of the dish was again very salty and it was not pleasant at all!!Maybe our late booking is the fault of such a poor service of what could have been great, we were really looking forward to the experience and meal of the Sky Garden! Maybe the chefs were tired from a long day, none the less it would have been great if some notice would have been given if the kitchen closing at 10pm is a standard thing, or least putting on the website to explain this, that way people can avoid booking at this time!!! If you plan to go at this time, i’d imagine you’d expect a service like what we received.We also tried to get the waiters attention several times without success (always had head high as if to ignore customers around them) we ended up waiting about 20 minutes after our main to get a dessert menu.As the music in the lower section was so loud, it was difficult to hear the waitresses whilst they had their face masks on, this added to our disappointment in the service.Apart from all the negative above the food did actually look great, and 2 out of the 4 of us found the food “okay” (as above one didn’t enjoy, second found too salty but still finished the meal), our waitress at the end also apologised for our service received, and we did appreciate that. Overall we didn't get the wow factor we were hoping for, and was not a great start to the new year :/

decent food at a premium priceit was quite busy when we visited and they mentioned they were short staffed which made it quite difficult to get the waiters attention when needed. Our server was lovely though and was quick to act on our requests.The food was good but didn’t really have the wow factor some reviews mention. My favourite part was the sweet potato soup!The person who had the burger said that it was quite tough and not juicy at all thoughThe cocktails were average £14 each but the taste was pretty good: you could actually taste the alcohol unlike at some bars where they taste like juiceOverall, it was worth the experience to dine with such an amazing view around you but it’s unlikely that I would find myself wanting to return for the food

Came for the view, stayed for the food. Lovely overall experience being on top of London. Came for a work team afternoon and it was buzzy and fun. Some of the meals were a bit on the greasy side but overall lots of flavour and decent cocktails. Only downside was being asked to leave after 2 hours but that's quite standard for touristy restaurants.
