Forge in City of London

Came to Forge bar and had a fantastic time! Carlie and Emma made fantastic cocktails. Two brambles that were so good I drank it before I could get a photo and this lovely Long Island. Thank you for the excellent service. Will definitely be back. The bartender Harrison was also super friendly and welcoming.

Overall, we had a very average experience here. The pros were that the staff were super friendly, kind and nice and we loved chatting with them behind the bar. It seemed extremely understaffed though and took quite a while for drinks to be served due to this. The atmosphere was good as was the location, and we were particularly drawn to coming here because of the cocktail and drink deals. However the food was a completely different story... my friends and I all ordered burgers and all 3 of us had literal wet and soggy burger buns and our food was waiting in the window for quite a while before arriving to us. It was also cold by the time we got it. Although the drinks were good, I'm not sure it would be worth coming back to be honest, although once again a massive thanks to the lovely staff members.

Fair disclaimer: Bartender was forced to wait tables due to being understaffed for the night.Went here with a group of friends for what had seemed like a lovely meal from the outside. The atmosphere in- and outside was lovely and gave a good first impression. We had booked in advance, but it seemed like they weren’t ready for us? As a group of 5, we were seated at a table with plenty of space but only cutlery for 4 (which was eventually corrected). The table was slightly sticky.It took 30 minutes of waiting before we got to order drinks, and once the drinks arrived, a couple of the drinks were far below the standard the menu to set it at.As we got drinks, we ordered food. I personally ordered a sirloin for which I was charged £19. After another half hour, our mains were accidentally brought out before our starters, and most of the food was cold or luke-warm at best. The sirloin was more of a generic beef steak, which tasted fine, but I expected a sirloin?The sides were good, but not enough to make up for the mains (especially the “king prawns”, which are actually just regular prawns). The lasagna and schnitzel sound amazing upon reading the menu, but look and taste like microwave dinners.As a former waiter, I could tell the staff did what they could after a long day, but it just did not live up to what was advertised at all. I paid £19 for a not-so-sirloin when I could’ve hopped on the tube back to my hotel to have a kitkat, a coke and a cry.TL;DR: I wouldn’t recommend The Forge for eating, but the atmosphere is cool and the alcohol is passable if that’s your thing.

Went to the forge for dinner with friends. We found a lot of issues with the restaurant.The interior is very nice, cosy and well-lit.The service was slow to take our order and seemed to forget about our table, it took half an hour to get our order in.The staff were a little unprofessional and did not write any of our order down, and so got some of our order wrong.When the drinks came they were fine but on the expensive side for what we got.Our starters were forgotten about until we mentioned it when they brought out our mains.We were still excited about the food at this point however, when the food came out it didn’t match the standard we expected - the bruschetta was doughy, food was forgotten and the quality can compare to pub food.To conclude,We were really excited to eat here, the restaurant was gorgeous, the rest was not.

The place looks great. The service and food not so much. The table was still dirty.We sat down and proceeded to wait 30 minutes before even getting a drinks order in.We then waited a further 30 minutes for our food to arrive. They forgot to bring out our starter and when they did it was cold.The mint in the mojitos was shriveled and wilted.While writing this I am still waiting for our mains.Tldr; food was not great and the service was sub par

TLDR: Food was subpar, and the service was very slow.We waited 45min before we got our starters.Half the plate was just fries, and the Mojito had wilted mint in it.Pretty sure the sirloin wasent even sirloin, and the king prawns were NOT king prawns.We were services by 3-4 diffrent waiters, one of which screwed up the order of our orders.The lasanga was 5/10, at best. And the brouchetta was doughy and cold.I recommend you steer clear of this place. Looks good, dosent deliver.

Very poor bar service. Marginally empty bar at 6pm on Tuesday, watching the two rather unfriendly girls behind the bar struggling to make cocktails and getting the cocktail ingredients wrong. It would have been almost comical, had it not have been for the 20 minutes wait to get a couple of pints, with a only handful of poor customers standing at the bar there wondering what it would take to get some service. Why run a happy hour when you can’t manage to get competent staff, one wonders? In short - avoid. Plenty of choices in the area.

Bar that claims to be a ‘home for city professionals’ but had a slightly tacky vibe. The venue on itself is alright, but the service is extremely slow ( 2 people working in the cloak room, still took 15 min to hang my coat while only 4 people were in front of me) and the bouncers on the dance floor were straight up rude. All together, a place I would only go if you bring a large group of fun people from your office, otherwise not really worth the time and effort.

Enjoyed my visit! Cocktails were great and made all the more quaffable by the nice long happy hour. If you’re lucky enough to get served by Emma then I recommend the Espresso Martini!

Good menu with a price suggesting good quality,unfortunately I got the worst cooked food .Nice bar, good service but don't throw your money for food there-eat somewhere else and then have fun in Forge bar.One star is for food only,but this food coming from Forge .Definitely I will visit It again,because is nice bar for some drink after work .
