Gaucho City in City of London

I previously loved Gaucho, I feel a bit different now. Going round the back of buildings and downstairs felt very weird, however it was comfy downstairs and the staff were lovely. The food however, was quite bland and a expensive for what we ordered. This meal for two cost £240 and the bottle of wine was only £35. Portion sizes have drastically changed, I'd be ok if it was a case of quality over quantity, but this wasn't the case. Cocktails were a tad overpriced too. I will not be in a hurry to return Gaucho, which is a shame as I previously had loved their food.

Very tasty steak with lovely starter and dessert~ The staffs are also very friendly :) Will come again in the future~

Great venue. We had a private dining room. The food and service were exceptional. Extremely welcoming, friendly, attentive with great atmosphere. Really enjoyed all courses with the selection of drinks and the food. Made for a fantastic evening out with our group of family and friends.

16 hours after the first feedback: the WORST food poisoning ive had in my life so far. I dont know if it was bad meat or not fully cooked meat but for 172 gbp i expect more that bringing the entire night and half of my day in the bathroom. So disappointed.Original review:Its a fancy restaurant with a huge wine card, also very nice cocktails. Its Important to say that they offer mostly meat/steak - very tasty, but also pricey. Not 100% Argentinian but more like a mixture between English and Argentinian cuisine.

Covid kept me away from it, but one smell at the chimichurri and I knew nothing had changed. Going there for ... More than 10 years ... If you like meat and you're in the city, this is the place

Went here for Valentine’s Day. Thoroughly disappointed. We were taken down to a basement that felt like an old strip club. The food was below average - 2 pieces of bland chicken on a plate with bisto gravy. Only good thing was the waiter he was very nice. Wouldn’t come here again!

I wish I could give 5 stars as the manager is lovely when you walk in and staff are very pleasant especially as we walked in after visiting the sky garden.Its doesn't get a 5 because the food just doesn't live up to the cost. I had the Lomo fillet 400g and added the butter for an extra £5 and though it was nice, lean and quite tasty it was still tougher than expected. I did ask the waiter before buying which is going to be the softest melt in your mouth cut and this was the recommendation but at times it was tougher than it could have been.2 others with me ordered chicken main and lamb shank main. Again lovely but nothing to shout out about.I even had a couple of Old Fashioned cocktails and if this place is going to charge £12.50 for this then the least I would expect is larger ice cubes as anyone else charging this price knows ideally this should be one large ice cube.I imagine not much will change off this review as location is in a highly tourist area, heck we tried it after Sky Garden.I just wish the food and drinks matched what the customer service was.For a place with great customer service I wish the food and drinks re

Gaucho was always a go-to for steak. This was the first time going after covid hit and to be honest, it just was not it & I won’t be going back.Culinary presentation not so bad, the food LOOKS tasty. However after ordering 4 medium sirloins every one was cooked differently and an individual steak would be cooked differently in different places, some of my steak was medium, rare, blue. Gambas were definitely not fresh as the meat was crumbling inside the shell😖😖Was recommended freshly squeezed orange juice by the waiter and was given 3/4 glass of ice and orange juice from a carton!The list goes on…The bill was £200 for two people… quite a shame really…

Wow wee wow, we had such a fab night here, booked the friendmas set menu which was great value and came with bubbles... Found the champs too warm and swiftly was served a cold bottle, so great service! Food was yum, especially the steaks and the ice cream sandwich dessert. Final bit of fun was that we were brought 2 dice and told if we rolled two 6's we'd get the meal comped!! I rolled two 2's but will def be back to roll again x

Amazing cozy restaurant, the stuff were so welcoming and friendly, they have kids menu with many options.
