Hunan in City of London

Absolutely superb lunch and what a treat to dine without a menu. Food was so interesting and varied. We are fairly adventurous eaters but I think anyone people would enjoy a meal here. Top quality ingredients executed well and a really interesting wine list. We will be back.

By far one of my absolute favourite restaurants ever! Everything is simply delicious, perfectly presented with great attention to every detail. The service, the wine list and the whole Hunan experience is nothing short of perfect, am a huuuge fan.

One of my favourite places in London. Pricey but worth it. It’s a LOT of food so make sure you come hungry! The pork soup, which is like a soup version of a xiao long bao, the crispy fine beans, and the dessert (banana fritters!) were my top three dishes.Very good at catering for your needs - for example, I’m not a big fan of intestines or frog, and they swapped out it for the veg menu. Amazing high end Chinese food. Great value lunch menu set. Good service. They offered us additional sample dish to try.

I am so impressed by the food and how tasty it was. Every dishes was so delicious. The variety of food that you were served with is definitely worth what you paid for. It was a different kind of experience to be having Chinese cuisine in small portion. Loving it so much.

I have to say, I'm impressed. This tiny restaurant was mighty impressive and the staff incredible. We didn't know what to expect and turned up with 3 kids. Probably not the wisest move as the duration is probably not suitable for kids as they don't have the attention span to conclude so many courses.But the good was good, large variety albeit a bit shabby on the presentation and if you equate the price per course it proves to be great value. I will definitely return, without kids this time around

I have been wanting to come here since hearing about Hunan from my friend, it sound amazing especially the concept of no menu, you just tell them what you do not like to eat/allergies etc and they bring out an array of dishes. Me and my wife were not disappointed this place had to be the best Chinese food we have ever tasted. Each dish had so many flavours, mine was the pork soup, the broth is something I could drink all day long. My wife is pescatarian and she was not disappointed by her dishes, the black cod was so delicious. We cannot remember how many dishes we ate (not complaining) but we definitely tried a wide variety of excellent dishes. The service was amazing, the staff were friendly and the owner (a friend of my friends) came over to make sure we were enjoying the food and giving us little tips on how to eat what and with what dish….but to be fair I saw him doing this with all his guests, lovely to see an Owen really engaging with his customers.I would 100% recommended this place to anyone and I for sure will definitely go back.

Local legend Pimlico Chinese restaurant that serves lots of little plates of spicy food that you don’t order it just arrives. You do get the choice of spicy (which is best) or non spicy and if you have any food allergies.The service is lovely, food is tasty and although there are lots of different little dishes that keep on coming you never feel overly full.Great restaurant that has been a wonderful local for many years. So many that I used to visit as a teenager and went yesterday to celebrate my silver wedding anniversary.

Hunan is a valuable place serving small chinese dishes in which menu changes every month so that the customers can try different chinese food. The servers were really great here. The food is amazing nothing wrong with it. I do not have much to comment because they were super good. Just one feedback though. Even though i am a salt fan, i found some of the food a bit salty. Moreover, food is very similar with one another, and those are why i cannot give 5 stars. I feel like more specialised food is better than having to serve many food but they are not specialised. This is just my opinion though. I hope this review helps the restaurant and future customers. I would love to go here again and this is very recommended to try and go back all the time. Cheers!

Eating at Hunan is an experience like no other. We had 18 courses over the 3 hours we were there for dinner and it flew by. It's paced perfectly so you don't feel like you have to roll home! The staff are attentive and friendly and the wine list caters for all tastes. Every dish was excellent but the stand out dish was the soup and lamb. I'd recommend a visit to anyone.
