Japanese Canteen - Watling in City of London

Decent food and reasonably priced being in the city of London. I chose the Korean fired chicken with rice. It was spicy and had a real kick of flavour. The portion was large and I struggled to finish it. We came after the rush hour lunch so lots of seating available. Would imagine during peak time it would be difficult.

Good quality food at a decent price. The crispy chilli squid was a little greasy for my taste hence 4 stars.

Had lunch today and chicken katsu with brown sos and chicken pieces are extremly overcooked, brownish! Just wonder did you service yerterdays unsold foods? Because during festive season you are not busy so chef can not forget the time?!

Good serving portions. Was not too busy so did a eat-in with a colleague.Chicken was a bit chewy, was wondering if cooked fresh. otherwise good tasting good.Responsible priced

Had some chicken hand pulled noodles that had a good flavour but were way to salty, like someone dropped the entire salt box on this dish. The flavours were there but they need to be more careful with their flavouring.

Good food and they are doing the full menu with some new dishes. Quick service and tasty food and if you can get a seat outside you get a nice view of St Paul's and people watching whilst enjoying a cold TsingTao.

I don't know a better place in London with Japanese tasty and cheap food. Everyone who is a true fun of Japanese food must try this place and the Korean friend chicken they offer (bottom of the picture). The other dish is katsu curry which is equally outstanding. The prices range from £5/6 to £8 max. Definitely recommending!

First I ordered chicken soup, got back to the office to find one; it was really oily and ridiculously bland, two; upon further investigation there was zero chicken in the soup! I decided to walk back and ask for a refund and was pleasantly surprised when they offered to refund the order and replace the order for something else. I asked for chicken teriyaki and I am not exaggerating when I say it looked like dog food and was foul. I guess you could argue it was free so why am I complaining?!

Japanese canteen is one of the good places if you fancy trying Japanese food ..... the place is very busy during office lunch time on weekdays .... and is decently busy over the other times ....they do from curries to meals ... one of my all time favourite is chicken katsu curry ... they do have some vegetarian options as well ... there is beer available too if you fancy a pint with your meal 😁😁.... they take only card which is not a problem infact a plus .. overall good

I didn't really check reviews before coming here, but despite poor reviews of this place, I actually enjoyed my Korean fried chicken.. (spicey version). It took a while to come though, we ended up waiting for around 30+ mins, but it was lunch hours.Quite a lot of seats, both indoors and outdoors.
